Highly Likely:
- at least 2/3 if not all 3 of SCI/D&C/WSP. We know they tried for these this year and it didn't come to fruition. I believe WSP was on board until the date change. ShapFrey obviously felt the heat from the veterans about the "change in direction" so I think they'll go for a "return to roots" vibe for the 5 year anniversary. I think D&C and WSP are the most likely for two nights. I have a feeling SCI was pissed about the storm cancellations (why else play a show in Lockn's backyard for a promoter with whom you have no relationship when you knew Lockn would come calling).
-the Umph for two nights. They've played three years in a row and are now staples. They love the festival circuit. Their Lockn sets have always been well received, I think they've earned the right to two nights. Give me a second headliner Thursday or Friday and Saturday late night.
-Warren in some capacity (same reasons as above)
-Keller
-TTB
-Moe. One of the few big 'jam' bands they have yet to book, Frey said they wanted them for 2017
-Phil
Less likely but possibility's
-Neil Young (return to Roots)
-some alternative rock band, they've sort of been trending in this direction and I think it continues. Bands that could fit this niche: Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, Alabama Shakes, Primus. Hell they'd have to give them a headliner slot but I think Pearl Jam at Lockn would be awesome.
-Trey band or Mike Gordon band to reel the Phans back in after this year
-Allman Bros, a lot of buzz about them reuniting next year if Gregg's health holds up. I think they do because Gregg's clock is ticking and this may be the last chance. If they do reunite they may keep it to Wanee, Peach and a residency or two but if they are available Lockn will make a strong play for them.
-Blues Traveler, seems odd they've never played given their relationship with Frey. I think this is the year.
-One of RRE/YMSB/GSB
Yeah right wishlist
-FTW line up
-Furthur
-Ratdog
-Phish again
-Phil Lesh Accapella set

I know this other one I'm going to say might not be popular with you guys and I'm not even saying that I would personally want it to happen...but Dave Matthews is going to play this fest eventually and when he does he will be either the Friday or Saturday night headliner.

JRAD on main stage
Twiddle after the sun goes down. I was really looking forward to them, but I was not able to fully throw down in the heat of the midday.

And I'm sorry but Fuck DMB (are we allowed to curse here?) I think that would be a total sell out move, and talk about bringing the wrong crowd to the fest. Would they have beer pong/flip cup tables and competitions for the best fraternity letter shirt and chants? Would they not be able to book Dead and Co. because they'd need to break the bank on alcohol compliance officers to bust all the high schoolers trying to get drunk? I fully recognize that I'm being a condescending jerk right now and I don't mean to insult you good people that may enjoy DMB, just not what I want at Lockn. This year showed I could go into a fest with doubts and leave with none, however DMB would be a much larger hurdle. No Thanks.

Panic w/ Dirty Dozen Brass Band the whole set
Tedeschi-Trucks multiple sets of just their own
Sturgill Simpson
Are some things I'd like to see.
Oh and a late night spot for the New Mastersounds.
Post by wizard1 on Sept 1, 2016 12:29:44 GMT -5
Expecting Dead & Co to be there, Please make P&F be the Q or something cohesive - too many cooks in the kitchen for the stringdusters set (could have just dropped the stringdusters and it would have been a really interesting lineup where Anders and Page got to show off more).
Mule x3 please, UM x2 or x3 please, I'm sure SCI and WSP will be there, but I am more concerned about UM and Mule getting an appropriate number of sets. CRB late night again would be cool.
Would much rather see JRAD than PhilRAD unfortunately their PhilRAD shows didn't have the same tempo and quick changes as normal JRAD does - don't see JRAD being on the main stage to show up the dead acts with original members or given the late night slot again - that being said bring back Bustle for the main stage (or late night) please.
For never played lockn before, Pink Talking Phish in the Woods would be pretty cool, Moe would be a welcome addition, Mike Gordon Band, The Metermen w/ Page (or w/ John Gros), George Porter Jr. & Runnin Pardners, Original Meters lineup and other new NOLA funk, Jason Isbell please, New MasterSounds, Soulive, Orgone, etc. The Word really needs to be there, MMW, just so many different options now that I think about it.
Welcome Back Anders Osborne, Jimmy Cliff, The London Souls, Turkuaz, Karl Denson
- I'll just continue to edit this list over the coming weeks / months and hopefully Pete or Dave will see the wisdom in my suggestions eventually

I am anticipating greatness. Have you ever been there? For those of you who don't know it's one of Shapiro's places. Most of the artists who play at Lockn come through either before or after the Fest. We joke that it must be part of the contract.
