Mule was really good, but only after Ann Wilson joined. Sorry you missed that, it was amazing.
John Fogerty was also one of my favorites, he rocked the house! five stars, would see again.

Greensky brought it.
Fogerty was better than expected (had low exceptions from his set with panic a few years ago)
WSP--standard festival set
Jim--WoW two years in a row
John Butler Trio--only second time I saw them and was impressed
Disappointed with the two stages in general area of each other. Why not just have late night at the main stage?

I'm a huge Jim James fan, but his acoustic set was about as boring as it gets. He should not try to play State of the Art acoustic, it sounded like crap. His sit-in with JRAD was sweet though.

1) JRAD Sat night (Fri did start hot with Shakedown, include a Been Caught Stealing and a better Terrapin than P&B and Jim James but I've seen them better and thought overall Sat was first rate with the OMSN "Hurry up Bob, we got to do this" being the way it should be played by every band in America every single Saturday night)
2) Greensky Bluegrass (They just keep getting better and better. The jams are the best in the bluegrass world and that was an outstanding Light Up or Leave Me Alone)
3) John Butler Trio (Acoustic 12 string power trio! Blown away again by a live performance of Ocean but don't need to see them again this tour. Sorry.)
4) The Record Company (Never seen them and I loved their set. Good old American blues rock. It felt good.)
5) MoonAlice w/ Jorma (CRUSHED their set. In and out of Good Shepard was beautiful. Barry Sless HAS to wear a laminate otherwise they are kicking that hippie out of backstage instantly. "How'd you get back here? I'm in the band! Right hippie, out you go...")
Honorable Mention) JJ Grey, Fogerty, WSP, UM, PPPP, Keller, Marcus King, ...
Worst)
1) Terrapin
2) Jim James
3) phil.moe.
4) Avetts
5) Margo Price
Best covers
Don't Do It - Blackberry Smoke
Sabotage - The Record Company
Light Up or Leave Me Alone > Tweezer Reprise > Light Up or Leave Me Alone - Greensky Bluegrass
Making Flippy Floppy - UM
Been Caught Stealing - JRAD
Cry Baby - Gov't Mule w/ Ann Wilson
Birdland teases - Gov't Mule
Worst Moment
Phil singing Birdsong
What happens if I take both?

Was not impressed with Phil Moe til bobby...by not impressed I mean I would see them again in a heartbeat but need a little more variety for my taste.
Overall I give this Lockn an A, not an A+ but a solid A.

-JRAD Friday. I made it! I'm all grows up! Shakedown was amazing. Can't figure out why they chose to play Terrapin. Once a month is enough for me on that song. We left at 2:30 feeling proud of ourselves. I got 3/4 way back to camp and Been Caught Stealing starts up. It's important to know that Janes was my favorite band in HS. Then I learned that Jim James was singing. FML.
-Mule et al. This one surprised me and I enjoyed the whole set, particularly the Zep and Allman covers
-I was excited about HIss Golden Messenger and enjoyed his set. some dude with an skinned opossum purse and a cured bullfrog neck pouch attempted to set his tent up in front of us. After about 10 mins of watching him and his friend fumble with it, we moved around and sat in front of him.
-Greensky/Fogerty. What yall said. I saw a behind the music once about CCR where Fogerty spent an hour claiming he was the only reason they existed. He seemed insufferable then and his name dropping video with Kenny Chesney reinforced that. Still, it's only bragging if you don't deliver, and he did.
-Record Company. good set, was interested in seeing and they didn't disappoint.
Bad
-String/UM. Not because they did a bad show, just still not my cup of tea after having seen them here several times. Reminds me of a Transformer movie where one hour in there is so much action and so little character development that you become numb to the effect. People have accused me of listening to "sad" music though, so maybe I am the problem
-Jim James. I called it. I rationalize this as Jim reminds me of Dylan artistically. He does what he feels like and great if you like it. Might have been great in a coffee shop or on the couch.
-PPPP. meh, silly for my taste.
-WSMFP. Meh. could have been me. I have seen and liked them many times before, just didn't get into it. Exhaustion hit me hard about then, so I went walk about and got a coffee which did absolutely nothing. made it through 3-4 songs of JRAD and called it a night. Past behavior predicts future behavior.
-Keller Gospel. Same show 3 years in a row. Still funnish, but come on man.

1. Mule and Ann Wilson...my neck has whiplash from immigrant song
2. JRAD Saturday... the only true Dead we got was JRAD lives both nights
3.John Butler... Except bully that was just corny
4.WSP... I'm a spread neck and I loved that set.. Fucking Airplane and Ride me High high up
5. Greensky...I put Atlantic city in the wishlist and Tweezer reprise was tight
Worst
1. Phil, plus having Grahm shoved down my throat constantly
2. Phil Moe.. even with Bobby thought it was awful
3. Margo Price...thank God for Record Company and UK because I hated Sunday, though Bob's Avert stuff was Dr rally cool
SCI...just don't dig em
Oh and Umph killed it, we need more more aggressive progressive at Lockn

I loved it. And I just listened to it again this morning and I still loved it, so it wasn't just my altered state of mind.
I wanted to see JRAD so much, but the latest I made it was 1:30, so I missed a bunch. I never did get the pacing right. And I never did make it over to late night Garcia forest, a mile walk from the VIP camp made that a no go for me at 2am.
Favorites:
phil.moe.
Avett Bros + Bob
Revivalists
Record Company
Fogerty
PPP
Sinkane
Worst:
Jim James
Keller solo
Phil with TFB/Terrapin - I was really falling asleep for Terrapin, it just seemed to drag on. And then some wook tried to pull some con on me around the time they got to the Terrapin suite (or she was just being odd and I thought it was a con developing. I just walked away)
7/12 Summer Jam at Watkins Glen 1973 tribute
7/24 Floydfest
