Welcome to the Lockn' Forum - The home of the original Lockn' Music Festival family!
How fast was it going? The cops at VaB can be real dicks, too, especially on underaged drinkers--my niece got a ticket after she threw away an empty cup, and a cop asked her what was in it. Very inconsistent. Obviously, the ring represents the racetrack at Oak Ridge Farm so not only is DeadCo returning, they are moving the stage back to the old location. And the ring is half of the Lockn' symbol, so they are playing one night, not two. Sheesh. May as well just say it. Similar but less confrontational thing happened to me at a Panic show in Philly. It was a Saturday night show at the Mann which is a beautiful venue in the middle of the park. We got there early and secured a great tailgating spot. Spent the afternoon grilling, drinking, and enjoying a great summer day. About two hours before showtime these guys plop their tank in the middle of our spot and set up shop. They give us this look that just says “this is our spot now, fuck off”. The one guy is rudely hitting on my friends girlfriend, and there’s not much we can do. I’m the last one to judge anyone for enjoying their substance(s) of choice but seriously, fuck the nitrous mob.
And to keep it on topic, I agree don’t play Jiffy play Lockn instead

But those are really the only two “VA” venues that get big summer shows except for I guess VA Beach and JPJ in Cville every now and then.

Dead & Company have officially announced their 2019 summer tour! The 19-concert stretch will take the Grateful Dead spinoff band—which includes Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart, John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Chimenti–across North America with a focused attention on multi-night runs in their reliable markets.
Dead & Company’s 2019 summer tour will kick off in Mountain View, CA with two nights at Shoreline Amphitheatre on May 31st and June 1st, before heading south for two shows at the storied Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA on June 3rd and 4th. From there, Dead & Company will head to the incredible Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA for two nights on June 7th and 8th.
After a few days off, the band will regroup for a mid-week show at Noblesville, IN’s Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center (originally known as Deer Creek) on June 12th before taking over the Chicago Cubs‘ historic Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL on the weekend of June 14th and 15th.
Dead & Company will continue east for one-off stops at Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY (6/18); BB&T Pavilion in Camden, NJ (6/20); the New England Patriots’ Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA (6/22); the New York Mets‘ Citi Field in New York, NY (6/23); Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, VA (6/26); PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, NC (6/28); Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta, GA (6/29); and Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, TX (7/2). Finally, Dead & Company will close out their 2019 tour with a two-night stand at Folsom Field in Boulder, CO on July 5th and 6th.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Saturday, December 8th at 10 a.m. local time through Live Nation. American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets for select shows before the general public beginning Tuesday, December 4th at 10 a.m. local time through Friday, December 7th at 10 p.m. local time. The two shows at the Gorge on a Friday and Saturday would check off a bucket list location so I may have to consider those.
Charlotte and Boulder are the other stops that got my attention.
Decisions, decisions.

There's hope! Although if you believe in the territories, Charlotte/Bristow covers Lockn's market. Not that they can't do a third show for us.

Bristow is not a favorite of ours either, but the D&C shows have been great and it is close, so gotta go. Will try to stay off 66 though, what a nightmare. Also, secret last time was to bite the bullet and pay for premier parking or whatever they call it. I call it not-in-hell parking. Would love to go to Wrigley or Dallas, but hometown DC area first.
Got preverified a few minutes ago, thanks for that heads up.
Where are other folks going?

Hope that doesn't mean an asteroid or some other large round object hits the racetrack during the show. Maybe just means a full moon that night, or some planet in the 7th house or whatever.
