I'm not in favor of a lot of security and enforcement but for that, I'd like more security and enforcement. Send some asshat packing to make an example; the word will get out.
and speaking of dogs, there were lots and those people should have been tossed out too. there were three loose pitbulls in RV near my family's area.

Hey! That was my aunt!
I think I'd rather have the same casual searches and live with some fireworks getting in; it would take thoroughness to find them.
But not dogs, esp the big nasty "rescue dogs." I guess the pitbulls came in the RV.
Very interesting about the fake ADA papers to sneak in pets. Like the athlete-types with their grandma's handicap parking tagss.
Not to be unsympathetic to those with real problems, but I never bought into the "comfort dog" thing other than a real working
dog like a seeing-eye.

There is documentation for ADA. There is no agreed-upon documentation for service animals.

Griping is cathartic. Ya gotta let it out, man. Otherwise you wind up squeezing it into a hard little ball and releasing it at an inappropriate time. Like when daddy hit the referee with the whiskey bottle.
Remember that? When daddy hit the referee?

When I was doing one of my shifts I asked someone in the box office what the story was with all the dogs there. They explained that not only can anyone get a MD to certify that an animal is a "comfort animal", if the person is asked to prove that the animal in question is officially a service animal, as the dog owner you have the right to refuse to prove such papers exist. It makes it next to impossible for the authorities to find out if a dog is bona fide so they don't even ask.

Obviously the days for me were filled with so much travel, excitement, dancing, drinking or partying to some degree that by the end of the day, I had NO trouble falling asleep. then again I am 49 years old. So it takes a lot out of me to go a whole day. My average time to bed...3:00 a.m. dead tired, but I also made the most out of each and everyday because it was my vacation and I was determined to enjoy it to the fullest. I still didn't get to do everything and see everything...it actually is virtually impossible. So I don't mind if others are partying when I crash, even if I am not tired I do not mind, because they paid their money too, and they deserve to enjoy themselves just as much as anyone else.. If you want quiet, get an RV or a hotel...just sayin'..
now, the dog issue. people shouldnt bring dogs..I never say a word, but that is my opinion..I love dogs, but I think that a festival is not the place for your furry best friend..too much nonsense going on..lol..
everyone needs to find their own level of comfort, and they are solely responsible for having themselves a good time, if that means bringing a dog, so be it...if that means letting off a few fireworks at night, so be it. if that means partying and having a great time with your friends, by all means do you...patience, acceptance, and goodwill towards your brothers and sisters will make the four days go by without incident.
and there was a LOT of patience, acceptance, and goodwill towards our brothers and sister at Lockn'..everyone I came into contact was friendly, nice and helpful, as I was the same....that's what its all about...

We had the fortune to be camping next the the crowd that didnt sleep for 4 days...literally....they stayed up all night partying and shooting fireworks. I too got a laugh out of it and had no trouble finding sleep, since I was exhausted.
But here was the problem, when my wife walks past them in the AM, when they are OUT OF THEIR MINDS and one of them tells her "Its not rape if we both agree"....I will thank my buddy for the restraint he imposed upon me or else I was going to realize an all expense paid trip to the Nelson County Jail. He later walked over to our site to ask for a sharpie.... He decided to have a conversation about the festival and what band I liked, etc.... He told me he loves the DEAD.....The DEAD saved his life (all of 25 yrs old)..... I looked at him and pointed at my Buddy and said "no, he saved your life". This guy was so confused and fucked up...It actually made it all better and I had a good laugh.
I expect much TOM Foolerly in the Festi environment, enjoy it......everyone needs to let lose. But keep it in check and respectful.

everyone should light off the fireworks at midnight and be done. Not every 23 and a half minutes when you just drift back to sleep.
