Welcome to the Lockn' Forum - The home of the original Lockn' Music Festival family!
not a fan of chocolate orgasms. That would just be strange. Vanilla on the other hand.....LIKE good name for a band though Please note: This forum is in no way officially associated with Lockn' Festival or its promoters.

If you take it to a festival, bring an extra tarp for a make shift rain fly. It may well save your trip. No one likes a wet sleep g space.

What I'm really looking for is a bar or a pub. Maybe a little hole in the wall with surprising good food and better company. A "home base" bar that when I walk in I know and like the crowd. Everywhere I've been so far seems to be filled to the brim with hipsters, buy maybe that's just what carytown is like (that's mostly where I've been hanging out bc of its proximity to my house and my so's love for new York deli).
What I'm really wondering is where do "we" hang out? Where's the family? You know what I'm saying?

Virginia, you aren't making a very strong case for me staying here. I'm thinking some place cooler with easy access to the great white north. NY, you looking for a new resident?

It's a celebration! We're gonna have a good time!
Cheesy enough?

And I do count myself lucky. Lucky and grateful every single day.

Name: Nina
Distance traveling to Lockn': approx. 100 miles
Camping area (or offsite): VIP car camping
Most excited for (Thursday): seriously, once Lettuce starts up Thursday is going to be a booty shakin' good time. I can't pick a favorite. I'm so damn excited!
Most excited for (Friday): Phil
Most excited for (Saturday): WSMFP w/ Winwood
Most excited for (Sunday): ABB. Does anyone else even matter?
Lockn' artists I've seen before: Lettuce, Phil and Friends, WSP, Derek and Susan, ABB, Grace, Keller, and unfortunately SOJA (disclaimer about soja: I was a freshman in college and they were playing at a local hotel bar/club and my hall mates wanted to go. It was awful. I'll never do it again.)
Artist from the undercard I recommend: I'm not really sure what the "undercard" is, but I strongly recommend checking out Lettuce.
The one song I absolutely must hear: I'd love to hear TTB play Space Captain, but I'm fairly certain they did that last year so I won't hold my breath for that. I can't wait for In Memory of Elizabeth Reed. And depending who does the vocals (cough- Alecia Chakour is she's there w/ Lettuce - cough), Althea would be a dream come true. I'll try to keep the singing along to a minimum
If I could add one artist to Lockn' it would be: Well originally, I was hoping Lettuce would be added, and then it actually happened. So, now I've got my fingers crossed for a holographic Jerry.
Prior festival experience: Bonnaroo 04 (at the ripe age of 17 - what were my parents thinking?), 05, and 09. Moogfest 2010 (judge me if you want, it was a fun stage of my life while it lasted, and I will always like Pretty Lights.). Floydfest 2011. Wanee (aka heaven on earth) 2012. All Good 2013. XMas Jams 2011 and 2013. So, I've been to a few.
Last concert attended: Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration in Charlottesville a few weeks ago.

spelling lesson
grammar in general
edit: I realize I come off like a bitch for pointing this out, but for me, seeing someone type they're when they mean their is the visual equivalent of nails on a chalkboard. It makes my brain hurt in the same exact place!

How can you "strongly dislike" instrumental funk? What about bacon? Or chocolate? Or orgasms? Sheesh!

Thursday is going to be an ass shaking good time, if you aren't having fun, there is something wrong with you. Lettuce is the TITS, especially if Alecia Chakour is with them. (SueB, you're the Susan fan right? I assume you like ladies with a serious set of vocal chords then. If that's true, you should definitely check this lady out, she's amazing.)
