Still Need A Ride To Lockn'

Aloha 2017 Lockn' Family!

I'm in need of a ride between Norfolk Airport and the festival:

I fly from the Oregon Eclipse Festival (PDX) into Norfolk Airport landing at 4:20 pm on 8/24

Then fly home from Norfolk Airport Monday 8/28, the morning after the festival ends, at 6:00 am

Can anyone help provide a ride to and/or from the fest and Norfolk on these days?

I would greatly appreciate it. I'm funny and a good conversationalist. I can drive your car if that helps (automatic or manual transmission) and can pay for gas and snacks. 


Also, how likely is it to be able to hitch to and from Norfolk?

Norfolk is about 3 hours from Charlottesville and another 45 minutes to the fest, so you'd be getting there late Thursday. You will have to leave Sunday and spend the night in Norfolk to get your 6:00 am; I doubt enough people will leave Sunday night to drive back to Norfolk, to count on finding a ride.

I have hitched that route but it was 40 years ago; no one does it now. And your timing is way off. The airport is about a mile or two from the highway. It's also far from the bus and train stations with no public transportation to connect.

There may be some ground trans running from Charlottesville airport (which is out there) to Lockn but it will be pricey. Although you could hitch from there to the fest, you shouldn't at night.

If you do hitch, your sign for Charlottesville should say "UVA" and for Norfolk "ODU". Those are the colleges there.

Your best bet is a cheap renter car from Norfolk, unless you get lucky here or other ride boards.
