Had some drive time today so I had Allman Bros 2008 tour 10-1-2008 VaB (commercial 2 CD set); I saw that show.

Includes "Anyday" and "takes a lot to laugh/train to cry"

Also a bootleg of ABB at Wanee 2014 which was the same tour as Lockn2. On both, but especially 2008, greg's voice now sounds a lot better.

A couple days ago had some drive time so Led Zeppelin IV and Houses of the Holy. We all love the songs but there is even more when you listen to an album straight through, a good one where the song order and mix was intentional. Plus those deep cuts get overlooked so often when you make lists, run Pandora, etc.

cleaned up with Los Lobos "another band from east LA" (my previous comments on full albums nws). They'd fit in well at Lockn or just Dave Hildago with some other talent.

I'll probably get booed for this, but am currently watching the Phil/Santana/Warren set from last year and enjoying it again. Can't say I wasn't disappointed about it not being more classic Santana infused, but looking past that it is a good listen for me.

Haven't really listened to it critically since high school. Among the named talent is Ry Cooder and Billy Preston--but the best part is that it was recorded at Muscle Shoals and the Southern Gothic drives it and swamp air is thick. It links in with Drive By Truckers, especially Sway, and I always thought Mike Cooley had a Keith Richard air about him. The second half of "Knockin'" is blue-eyed soul.

Too bad "Sweet Virginia" and "Far Away Eyes" aren't on it; they'd fit.

Too often now we hear the "hits" from this album, whether on the radio, a home-made playlist or a Sirius/Pandora, but like most albums back then, it's intentionally arranged to play in order, without skipping songs. And the familiar tunes warrant a closer listen, rather than a nostalgia trip or sing-along.

I keep circling back to Muscle Shoals. Just snagged and copied Skydog with 7 discs of Duane's work there and around. Can't really say it's his early career since his whole career was early, sadly.

The non-musical highlight was Bobby shushing people right before it peaked. Hard not to like a Werewolves encore, too. Actually, pretty much the whole second set. Not that there's anything wrong with the first one...

I got a email link to this the other day & listened to what they had on there. Great sounding & 2 red rock shows in the set along with about 3 other shows.. Joanne's been bugging me to get some Dead to play in her car & I think this is a good buy.

Just finished listening to the new Bob Dylan - Fallen Angels. Bob actually very clear in his pronunciation on these standards...although I'm not sure that is a good thing. Two releases in a row of old classics tunes, both are ok albums but, time for a Bob Dylan written album please

watched some of My Morning Jacket on Austin City Limits last night (rerun on MTV Live fka Palladium). I'm still not a fan. But those who like them might want to watch out for it running again.

That channel has lots of good live stuff, especially from festivals.
