The Strokes

A friend recently started managing this iconic band that's lasted 20+ years and still commands good crowds, especially internationally (well, except for one thing, now).  They played SNL on Halloween--I had better things to watch--their fourth time playing that holiday. My friend got to be in the audience; the night before he saw Trey play to an empty Capitol which must have been weird for the artists.

1997 studio release - after a stretch of horrible releases a decent album (basically stick to what you know is sometimes the best approach)
