Wilco's new album--a double CD--goes back to country roots (band came out of the break-up of Uncle Tupelo). It's Album of the week here on Out of the Box, reviewed here:

lobster - been listening to so much country lately. What do you think of Flatland Cavalry, Charles Wesley Godwin, Cole Chaney - there is such a good scene happening right now - even some country radio adjacent shit like Hailey Whitters, and with Turnpike coming back…
I need to see these bands but they don’t seem to journey up to Maryland. To the road I go ..

It's definitely nice, a bit long I think, could do with some trimming, not as much as that Zach Bryan record, though.check out the new Wilco country album

The single they released was excellent, but the album was just another Tweedy solo venture to my ear. Was very disappointed. Maybe I need to go back, but they promised Bakersfield and delivered slow depression. It's definitely nice, a bit long I think, could do with some trimming, not as much as that Zach Bryan record, though.check out the new Wilco country album
