OK then watch for Blackberry Smoke--very accessible to see. They can go to the country side, or the Americana side, or even southern jam. Of course Chris Stapleton is at the top but he sells out big venues fast; I love my bar bands and small rooms.
Anyone in Oklahoma check out my friend's band Buddy South.

lobster - been listening to so much country lately. What do you think of Flatland Cavalry, Charles Wesley Godwin, Cole Chaney - there is such a good scene happening right now - even some country radio adjacent shit like Hailey Whitters, and with Turnpike coming back…
I need to see these bands but they don’t seem to journey up to Maryland. To the road I go ..
Yes all good stuff, especially Cole Chaney. Discovered him late last year and got to see him do an acoustic solo show opening for Isaac of 49 back in December. Both played a super intimate show that I will remember for a long time. Plus Cole sings a bunch of coal songs and they really speak to me, stuck down here in the coalfields.

So I've always seen the spinning horn in a leslie but not the drum like he has; maybe they are in the cabinet? So off to Wiki and there it is--the spinning drum is for the bass speaker and the horn, if there is one, for the treble. The system was developed in the 1930's in an attempt to make an electric organ sound like a pipe organ.
Zappa's one-celled hammond organism can be right complex.
Interesting that in sound reproduction we seek both clarity and distortion in a quest for realism.

I have been into this album for some time and it just gets better. I looked to see if he is touring while back and realized he is opening for The Black Keys/Band of Horses ticket I already have. Was curious how he sounds live this morning and found this. I hope he is electric like the album as I suspect he could jam out, but this performance bodes well.
