The best answer is 96.  I will show my work:

I got 40 and the official "answer" was 96. I'd call it a bogus puzzle.

To get 40:  If A is first # and B is second #, I found A + B + the previous line's C = this line's C

To get 96:  Puzzle answer was A*B + A = C, so 8*11+8 = 96

Now that I think about it, my method was probably against the "rules." I tend to cut Gordian knots.

The first and second number are just the next in the series:

4+7= 11 plus 21 = 32
5+8= 13 plus 32 = 45
6+9= 15 plus 45 = 60
7+10= 17 plus 60 = 77
8+11= 19 plus 77 = 96"
