I’d go it if it were in Raleigh. Cats Cradle is a haul for me.

The show was outstanding and was supposed to be three hours and ran for four. Opened with the Blasters "Long White Cadillac" and they also played Border Radio, Dark Night, and others. Note: they started at the stroke of the announced time--don't be late.
I have a greater appreciation for Jr. Brown after hearing him live and especially when he threw in three "surf guitar" songs (incl Walk Don't Run and Secret Agent Man). And also from Heath's comments.
The “Reverend” Jim Heath noted that he put this tour together as a tribute to the others as major influences on his playing and style. He had an interesting discussion of how seeing the Blasters at a punk club in Dallas in 1980 got him into the rockabilly/punk connection that endures—oddly it seems--today. Big Sandy sang with RHH and was an interesting touch, also one of Heath’s heroes.
Heaths' guitar playing is some of the finest, even if you find the craziness annoying, focus on how he plays so you think there are three guitars up there. The keyboard player is a lot of fun but also has depth. The drummer, in a solo, came out with pure Gene Krupa from 1940.
Any of these bands would be a great late afternoon show at Lockn'.
Rev. Horton Heat is what Skip Castro would want to be.
You will seldom get a chance to see this talent. Do not miss. And hang out and talk to the musicians, too; they are typically around (check the smoking patio!).
