As the biggest derek trucks fan i know three sets of derek makes me ecstatic. This fest will be at least my 25th time seeing him. Three sets of Bob - beautiful i love Bob weir ill never get tired of him. Never seen wolf bros and i love oteil. Tab is fine, im glad derek is sitting in. Enjoy phish and tab as they are but sometimes trey falls a little short as we all know. Looking forward to JRADs two sets too theyll be epic. Steele pulse is a bucketlist for me been listening to them since 5th grade. I mentioned before i wanted jazz, well soulive and galactic will do it, awesome late-nights, as well as CATS. And i havent seen anyone mention Cory Henry who is the keyboardist from Snarky Puppy. Khruangbin, Old Crow, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Gary Clark Jr. All solid middle tier. Preservation Hall jazz band, Andy frasco (never listened but have heard a lot about him), soul rebels, nahko, and pigeons round out the undercard and i have few gripes. I think another headliner is coming. Remember when they announced mickey and bill at lockn (the year of the microburst). That was only a couple months prior. So well see about that. Wouldve liked Phil, Mule, and Dopapod in there somewhere. Definitely was hoping for Warren at least.

Thursday: Should have bought the 4-day pass. Normally Thursday is a throw away day for me with UM or SCI that allows me to work one more day and show up on Friday. This year, Thursday is the best day and Dryw and I are just going to have to figure it out. Don't know Andy F., but if Vinnie says they're good, we can assume that is true. Chris R. is supposed to be killing it. I have been wanting to see Khruangbin and missed them in DC, so that is great. Gary is my uncle's name. He broke his neck in a drunk driving accident when I was 13 and was in a halo. He was thrown from the car and the paramedics only found him in the barbed wire fence because my other uncle asked where he was. We went to the grocery store together while he was wearing the halo and some guy cut us off as we went to the check out. He threatened to "kick him in the fucking head". This was in west Texas. Anyway, I have seen Clark, he is amazing. Most importantly, two sets of JRAD before midnight. As has been documented at length here, I hate late night. I will be raging during these sets so seek me out for entertainment.
Friday: My girlfriend liked Edie Brickell in college, that's all I got, but she is cool. I saw OCMS live last year for the first time and I know people roll their eyes at them and I got in late, but I discover bands at the time of my choosing and I thought they put on a great gig opening for Sturgill. The Revivalists. I have heard them and I remember likingish. Don't like Phish, but saw Trey solo at Bear Creek some 8 years ago and he was excellent and with Derek, it should be awesome.
Saturday: Vinnie says Liz is good, so I will do my homework. Allman Betts. Dryw has seen the Allmans some 30 times, so I know he will be pysched and I just saw a documentary on Betts and didn't realize that's who I loved in the Allmans, so should be good if he isn't washed up. PreservationHJB. I saw them in a private show at my company meeting last year and they were excellent. Bobby with other people, excellent. TTB. Still don't ever listen to them at home, but they are always great and a Lockn mainstay.
Sunday: Keller. Again. I have edibles this year, so this should be fine. St. Paul. I have heard and expect they will be good. I have seen Isbell twice and have tix to see him earlier in the summer with Father John Misty, so he will be great as always. Bobby with Susan could be pretty mellow for the last night, but maybe St Paul horns come out and they liven things up?
No opinion on the late night as I will be asleep dreaming of JRAD.

No doubt it's a lot of work to run a big festival, and no doubt it's hard to make money at it. It feels to me--and I'm still new here--that they're still trying to figure it out. I live in the northeast and was a Vibes regular. I remember when Lockn hit the scene; it was obvious to us that Lockn was going BIG, setting out to be THE East Coast festival. Up at the Vibes we were looking over our shoulders and seeing this paradise of music in VA. And look at those early lineups, such as this first Saturday night: Black Crowes > TAB > WSP/Fogerty > Furthur. Or the next year's Saturday night: TTB > Wilco > Phil > WSP/Winwood > Petty. My god, those were heady lineups. The two Trey/Derek sets this year could be thunder and lightning, but it's still TAB and TTB, and they simply aren't headliners for a festival staking its claim to be THE event of the summer.
I'm excited for the folks who are going this year. There could be magic and I'm guessing it'll be a sweet gathering of the best people and fine music. And my hope is that the festival will find its path and thrive. They do, though, need to find a rhythm and a direction. This year clearly marks a new model--one with the old model's pricing--and I hope it's a part of a plan that will bring great music to all of us for years to come. I rather wish they'd tell us.

But then I realized that there are 4 potential slots staring me in the face. All the 'headliners' have 2 sets. As listed, that would assume a break between sets - very un-Lockn'like.
They could add some pretty heavy hitters in between the sets like they have done in the past.
Maybe the 'More' is a stacked undercard, or just maybe there are some surprises on the way.
Either way. I have my ticket already. I will see everyone there and I'm sure some good music and good times will be there for us as usual.
Crickets and cicadas sing... A rare and different tune...

Disagree. Not a fanboy, just love the acts on the lineup. If Trey can headline peach why can’t he headline Lockn? Also, Panic also plays theaters? They played one by me that held 2100 last year? Actually so does Van. Your point makes little sense.
