Following on the recent discussion of how big outdoor venue, small crowd, solo amplified acoustic (or electric) gigs will work before the alternatives work very well...
Yes, that control point problem is huge. When has that control point ever been smooth and fast, especially when combining ticket checks with contraband checks. Well, it could be honor system on the contraband check. Never mind, THAT will never work. Or wait in line in a vehicle, but no vehicle search and no check after driving in. Nevermind, even worse idea. The event we just attended had parking right nearby (we had to walk a whole 50 feet from our parked car to our table). No check point, wander in from any direction as you please. But there was still the problem of people walking by at any given moment. Profit goals might have to change for the earliest events (tips, online payment, free event and food purchases, etc.). I know that none of this works for festivals, it ONLY works right now for small low attendance music in a large field or park with broad entry and seating options, and full participation by everyone on the rules. Yikes!. Music w/o alcohol = fatal flaw. Alcohol (and tinnitis) w/o shouting/spitting/personal space invasion = fatal flaw. And lastly only solo acoustic for the future of live music = as mentioned, TEHO, and Need For That Vaccine!
Anyway, just brainstorming. At least we got one local event in at the right, hard to duplicate formula.
Any ideas, post 'em here.
Shout out to Smosey, who has been researching!

Reduced capacity to try to facilitate distancing tanks the business model--you see it now with the restaurants who are losing money daily trying to keep their brand alive. Maybe the big venues will get desperate and feature the bar bands in the sheds, but I doubt it; it cost too much to open the gates.
My feeling is that the shows open back up with a "come at your own risk" approach for the audience with some, but not too much, distancing available--think about the non-crowded Lockn' last year when it was easier to escape the mob than the year with Dead Co. But that doesn't account for protecting the health of the band, a serious but overlooked concern unless you have studied the Deadly Choir Effect.
Speaking of keeping the brand alive, I read that Pete went ahead and opened Nashville Bowl but just for food for now.

"Murphy also is raising the limit on gatherings. Indoors, gatherings must be at 25% of a building’s capacity or 50 people, whichever is lower. Outside, crowds of as many as 100 will be allowed.
"The governor also said he anticipated raising the limit on non-protest and non-religious activities to 250 people on June 22 and 500 people on July 3."
So if Lockn' was a protest against annoying and bland mechanized music (rather than a celebration of pleasant creative human spirit music) we could have everyone! They've never been shy about inserting some politics although try to make it appear "neutral."
