Didn't see that one coming. This is getting more spectacular every day. This is what I envisioned when I first heard of Lockn'. Exclusive collaborations. This & Jefferson Airplane & who knows what else will happen that will happen at the last minute. I hope some of these artist get their own sets.

This is a wish-list-wish come true for me; last year, after Lockn and seeing so many Woodstock songs performed and so well received, I rubbed the genie belly and wished for Joe and Leon to reassemble MD&E. Didn't know at the time that Joe was sick so it wasn't feasible. But now, not only do we get the show, it's a great tribute to Joe Cocker.
I hope Leon steps up and kicks out the jams; he can be a grump.

One of the great aspects of MD&E is the tale of assembling the band and the tour on a minute's notice, all found in the liner notes of the album (maybe the CD, too; not sure).
Although I was only in ninth grade, I saw both Joe Cocker and Leon Russell, separately, shortly after the tour (Leon was shortly after Bangla Desh, and decades later I got him to autograph his photo from the book that came in the album).
This old dog is waggin' his tail and peeing on the carpet over this news!
