For all you folks out there that haven't seen Phish or listened to Phish much or are worried about Phish at Lockn please keep they following in mind. These are the set critiques of some Phish, for a lack of a better word, aficionados. All the perceived knocks on these shows (e.g., not being fans of certain songs, songs not fitting well into a set, jams fizzling out, sets being too song oriented, sets being too jam oriented, lack of energy) are comparisons to ideal sets. Sometimes you really do get those ideal sets. But like most things in life, most things fall short of perfect. The thing to remember is that every single person nit-picking these sets would LOVE to have been there and would have had a great time. Do not be put off by these critical (skillful judgment not negative judgments critical) analysis. Don't worry about what songs get played or anything else like that. Just open your self up to having fun and seeing/hearing some amazing music.
Very good point, phish shows are always a blast but you are always hoping you may get treated with one of those sets that stays with you for years to come ...

Definitely would have loved to be there, hence staying up to 2 am to webcast it ha!

I follow John Mayer on Snapchat (he's actually very funny- and you can tell he has a few neurosis), and tonight he posted several videos from the Phish concert this evening. It appeared he was standing at the soundboard.
Why would John Mayer be at a Phish show? Sign of things to come? Just showing support to Trey? Discussing future business?

Kickass looking 2nd set! Looks like Bill Graham was the spot to be this year for summer tour.

As far as Mayer being at the show, Dead & Co. are on their west coast swing about to play in Portland on Friday. Wouldn't surprise me to see them hanging out in San Fran for a few days before that anyway. California shows always have celebrity sightings like Bill Walton at the Forum last year...
...OR MAYBE Lockn is about to announce that one of the Phil lineups will be the Fare Thee Well lineup except for with Mayer replacing Trey??!!??!
That's right...PHIL & COMPANY...you heard it here first!

But in all the years I have followed Mayer on social media (don't judge, I like him), I've never heard mention of him liking Phish. But who knows.

Yes, yes I have. He and Andy Cohen (one of his good friends and a deadhead) have been known to attend their shows together. Quote from a July 30th, 2015 interview with Andy Cohen about his friendship with Mayer:
"He's great. I love him," Andy said. "We're buddies and we bond over the Grateful Dead and he's just a great guy." (Most recently the guys caught up in San Francisco to catch the Grateful Dead during their "Fare Thee Well" shows.)

Maybe some sort of super group line-up, which was discussed pre/post show? You never know.
