I guess the better question is whether they would sell out SOON after HUGE is announced--do we need to race?

At L3, the VIP car camping was oversold and got way too crowded, but I don't know if they cut off sales as a "sell out." RV sells out and I think I heard "forest" sells out, or has been oversold. Maybe others know about VIP/SVIP the last two years.
Considering the experience level of current management, while they will of course want good sales, they will be mindful of compaction, and while it might be crowded, they don't want it to be over-crowded (which includes over-taxing the facilities and vendors, as much as the show field). Their goal is not to make money one time but create a "positive festival experience" that will keep it going. I have faith they will do it well this year.

This is from the far end of the VIP camping area in 2017, from the top of the little hill going up to the RV area. It seems like they had the perfect amount of VIP camping space.
I guess if more campers had come they could have fit 20-30 more in against the fence on the other side of the bathroom/portapotties.
edit: I just realized I posted this it might be too big, sorry if it blows up browsers on small screens.

It's not until the sherpas come and carry you from your tent to the front of the stage that you notice the difference.

I want to go SVIP again this year, and would love to buy my tickets now and have it over with, but I wont put up that kind of cash without a lineup, no matter how sure the rumors seem.
I could get stuck overpaying for Phish tickets. I'd at least like to overpay for bands I love.

I feel the same way about the Willie Nelson set. Unfortunately, all of the criticism is true. He wasn't just out of tune and off key, he was off tempo too. We were on the rail and could only see the feet of the piano player (which was very good). Willie introduced the piano player as his little sister - and out walks Susan Tedeschi to take a bow. Willie spent most of his time grabbing souvenirs off the stage and throwing them to the kids within reach.
It was a good set list. The highlight was Roll Me Up & Smoke Me When I Die. It was fun. Not good. But fun.
