Thurs has a couple good local acts to actually begin the festivities and a Jerry Dance Party alarm clock. I've seen Erin & the Wildfire and like what I've heard of Butcher Brown today. While Lettuce>UM>Lettuce>UM might seem like a lot I like both and think the possibility of some Umphrey's Lettuce is worth the risk. And then night 1 of the most awesomeist late nights in the entire history of the universe...JRAD!!!. They crush and if you miss it you are worthless and weak. I like that it is a Thurs set as I will still have the energy to rage.
Fri has some potent undercard action. Caitlyn Smith has a huge voice. Ghost Light I am excited to see and although they are untested at this point I think by festival time it will be crazy that they are so early in the day. Band of Changes could be interesting depending on who it includes. Lukas Nelson & POTR will kick ass with no NY required. Turkuaz are a ton of fun to see. Moon Taxi are supposedly one of theose bands on the rise but I'm glad it's a 1 hour set now (well played Lockn). Toots is going to be a highlight show and hopefully he is a sitin possibility somewhere somewhen. This is the Umphreys set that I hope they go off the tracks and give us something crazy. George Clinton... well, uh, yeah, it could be fun. Herring coming out for some Maggot Brain anyone? Then some Widespread Panic! A lot of my crew is in heaven with this. Hopefully they dig deep and bring the hot hot heat. Maybe a few sitins but no half set special guest. And then night 2 of the most awesomeist late nights in the entire history of the universe...JRAD!!!. They crush and if you miss it you are worthless and weak. If nothing else just lay down on the ground and try not to get too trampled while staring at the hopefully star filled sky.
Sat is a bit of an unknown to start. PBR I've seen a number of times and are fun but I probably won't make it to the stage in time. Southern Avenue is a total mystery but I bet they are really good and look forward to listening to them soon. The Suffers have been popping up in my consciousness recently and I like what I've heard but have more listening to do. Again I bet they are fun. Agents of Good Roots are another mystery that I will explore. Big Something are our homies and if you miss their set I will take it personally. Just ask suebhunny. Foundation of Funk is going to be outrageous with George Porter Jr., Zigaboo Modeliste, Cyril Neville, Ivan Neville, Tony Hall, and Ian Neville. Beyond all-star. Not sure if PPPP deserves that spot or not but they are the all the rage entry for the day. Keller and the Keels always entertain and I want some bluegrass but is this enough? I've said it before and I'll say it again, TTB is the best overall band touring that we get to see. They bring it all and love to sit and be sat upon. DeadCo is what we wanted and what we got. Most intriguing set may well be the Lettuce/JGB late night. What does that even sound like?
Sun is interesting. It looks like there ought to be more. Keller's Grateful Gospel has always entertained but without a Bloody Mary last year some of the shine wore off. Set up a Bloody Bar and we may be back in business. And I have to wonder if it is really a 2 hour set. Spafford is Sundays new band blowing up big set. Just saw them and they will rock. Matisyahu is another variable. I hope it is a good energetic set and not too introspective. Blues Traveler is another good set for sit ins. Having John Popper on the farm could make for some fun in unexpected places. Throw some Pigpen harp into DeadCo? I predict we all have a blast at Sheryl Crow. Not sure if anyone sits in with her but... TTB night 2 would be a great place for something special. Susan and Sheryl together for Angel of Montgomery? or Dixie Chicken? Or some damn thing. I expect Bob to make an appearance one night and I could be down with Mayer and Derek playing some together. DeadCo night 2 maybe they give us a rager to end the fest.
What happens if I take both?

They handed the social media guy a blank chart and they were like “uhh... here fill this out.”

But I will say this, this is most likely the ONLY time you will ever see DeadCO at Lockn. It took three years for everything to line up so they would play this year. I see the chances as slim and none that you will see a repeat of them. Not being negative, at all, just being realistic. So enjoy them this year because it could be the last time we have this opportunity...
Oh and thanks Dave for making this happen!!!
I'm sorry but sacrificing the rest of the lineup for just to ensure Dead and Co plays leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Have any of you all seen them live? Sure they can bring it when they want to. But lots of times the temp is slowed to a snails pace.
Do you realize how old those guys are? I’m slowing at 55 most days. The fact they even do two sets amazes me 😀

Saw them last June and had a real good time. When I listened to their streams during the Fall tour they were so much tighter and sounded fantastic to my ears. 😊

I feel like this exact thread of comments has been said for 50 years. Sometimes the dead (or side projects) are awesome and sometimes they aren’t. But this is the band right now and it’s always fun.
There’s obviously a lot more that will be added and shuffled.
I think you’d be an awfully strange person if you went to this festival with this line up and didn’t have any fun at all.

Matthew Paul Miller (born June 30, 1979),[2] known by his Hebrew and stage name Matisyahu (מתּתיהו; /mɑːtɪsˈjɑːhuː/; "Gift of God"), is a Jewish American reggae vocalist, beatboxer, and alternative rock musician.
Known for blending Orthodox Jewish themes with reggae, rock and hip hop beatboxing sounds, Matisyahu's 2005 single "King Without a Crown" was a Top 40 hit in the United States.[3] Since 2004, he has released five studio albums as well as two live albums, two remix CDs and two DVDs featuring live concerts. In addition, Matisyahu played the role of Tzadok in The Possession, a supernatural horror film directed by Ole Bornedal and co-produced by Sam Raimi. Through his career, Matisyahu has worked with Bill Laswell, reggae producers Sly & Robbie, and Kool Kojak.

Now that the "initial" lineup is complete is it time to start talking about shoulder rides again?

I'm hoping for a sit-in with the 2nd Umphrey's set on Thursday, an announcement of who will be playing in Band of Changes (Metzger, Dreiwitz, and Russo? They've done it before), if one of the TTB sets will be a tribute...
