Back in the day, they would not let a band called The Grateful Dead play there, due to reputation for attracting hordes of drug-crazed hippies, but they approved another band, The Warlocks, instead.
The Hampton cops obviously had no idea who the Warlocks were. Epic prank by the Dead. You should have seen the looks on the faces of the LEOs when we came walking down the streets and they realized that they had been duped, priceless...
Buy the ticket, take the ride...

Friday - this one was a show that definitely was geared towards the harder-core Phan, had everything from bustouts to great song choices to jams. And of course the encore that everyone wants, Lizards. Very psychedelic show, which is what I am looking for so it was my favorite 2nd set of the weekend.
Saturday - a little bit more of a straight ahead rocker than the previous night, as Saturday often tends to be. Another very complete show though, with 2 great sets. The 1st sets were great all weekend and the 46 Days > Fluff segment was so awesome.
Sunday - kind of an odd show, but they really came out cooking with my favorite 1st set of the weekend. Funny that the jam of the weekend would come in a 1st set in the Simple and of course Skin it Back was a real treat that I had never gotten before. Not my favorite setlist choices in the 2nd set, but something had to be saved for Nashville/Chicago. Was glad to see that YEM wasn't on that list.
Definitely got what I came for in Hampton.
