Welcome to the Lockn' Forum - The home of the original Lockn' Music Festival family!
I love Lyle Lovett but I don't think his style really fits the rest of the line-up; his music is tight and polished, and requires (or inspires) quiet careful listening. But he's too good for the 11:00 forest wake-up show. I agree, he was good on Deadicated--didn't he do Friend of the Devil? CORRECTION: Hiatt would be a good fit. For some reason I was thinking John Cougar Mellenhead. And someone mentioned Todd Snyder; he'd be a fun afternoon show; he's sort of a lesser version of Keen, and without the strong music. Please note: This forum is in no way officially associated with Lockn' Festival or its promoters.

That all sounds terrific!! Really hoping for both the Dead Feat and Santana parts to be true. have thought the Kruetzmann on drums for Airplane would happen.
That would blow any other festivals out of the water.

Possibility? Are these the only dates? We shall see...

I, like most, had a list of acts I'd like to see. Now I just want the rumors to be true!

Bill K on drums with Airplane
Billy and the Kids w/ Bobby
Mickey Hart in some form (Maybe MHB?)
Santana with Widespread
Gregg Allman
JRAD (late night shakedown)
ARU (always been a major wish, but especially after todays announcement)
Phils Friends will consists of 1. Luther Dickinson, Anders, John Molo, Jeff Chimenti 2. Warren, Kraz, Molo, (someone else on keys)
Pretty much the same thing everyone else is saying, but it all sounds legit.

His buddy Robert Earl Keen is scruffier and rowdier and would be a better fit, if you're looking for someone similar, and REK just released a nice bluegrass album (more like him and his band playing bluegrass-type songs). He's an all-time favorite of mine.
Hiatt, meh. Rather have Steve Earle.
Personally I want to put "my" bands in the main stage and let you all have the late night while I snooze.

Leftover Salmon would be an excellent fit. Bill Payne should already be there. Good collaboration potential. I've seen a few recommendations for Alabama Shakes. Would love to see that.
Houndmouth (I think I have that right) played in Richmond last year with St. Paul & the Broken Bones. Fun show. Would be a good way to start the day.

I desperately, desperately wanted this to happen. Jacket's sound embodies everything Lockn' wants to be (musically speaking). I really thought this was our year with Jacket releasing an album (possibly two) and touring heavily. Alas, it appears they will be in Europe during Lockn'.
