Welcome to the Lockn' Forum - The home of the original Lockn' Music Festival family!
Yea, it wasn't that he sounded bad I think I was just butthurt I paid so much for a ticket just to see him play 12 songs and peace out. I'm sure for a festival show he would be fine. Just seemed uninspired to me. I also never meant to imply McCartney doesn't put on an amazing show! Hell his Roo show is in my top 3 of all time. I just don't see him at Lockn. Please note: This forum is in no way officially associated with Lockn' Festival or its promoters.

I think McCartney charged Roo $5 mil a couple of years back so idk if he fits the budget (b/c I don't know what the budget is). Also his stage was HUGE and very precisely set up (he brought his own screens). It would shock me for Lockn to get him.

McCartney last September I believe put on a great show, he had fireworks, all kinds of screens, the stage was even one big LED screen and the front of the stage lifted up 20' or so in the air and the sides were all big screens he did blackbird and a couple others from up there acoustic while the rest of the band took a break. I just don't see him at Lockn, but he still puts on an amazing concert.

I didn't read anything into your comment about McCartney, I was just blown away by his set-up. By far the coolest I've seen.

As for budget, a guy I know who knows the financial side of the business commented that he didn't see how the cost line and the revenue line would cross each other, last year, with the types of acts they had.
As for short shows, that fits Lockn's scheduling.
I saw the Stone in 1972; Stevie Wonder opened. So I'm good.
Clapton I saw in 1975 and wouldn't mind seeing him again (but don't expect it at Lockn).
Chicago and Earth Wind and Fire are touring and will be in the area around Lockn time--please, God, no.

Pure speculation based on one Facebook post on Mickey Hart's page.
Maybe as much wishful thinking as anything.
I do think they will announce more Dead acts, such as Billy and the Kids, or Bobby with somebody. Don't know if TOO2000 would be one of them, but I am keeping hope alive.
