The Beatles reading/listening project All The Songs

She Loves You/I’ll Get You

Single released 8/23/63 in Great Britain (6 weeks #1) and 9/16/63 in US (#1 for 2 weeks, but not until 3/21/64)

She Loves You - first writing credit reflecting Lennon-McCartney (previously the names had been reversed). A German version, Sie Liebt Dich was also recorded and released. John & Paul on lead vocals.

Recorded July 1, 1963 number of takes is unknown.

I’ll Get You- B side. One of only 4 Beatles songs never mixed in stereo. John & Paul on lead vocals. Listen at the 1:14 mark for John singing on line and Paul singing a different line. Studio time was limited so they just released it with the mistake.

Recorded as well on July 1, 1963 with number of takes unknown

I put on Spotify, went to my Made For You Daily Mix 1. First song was one I was not familiar with - chosen by the algorithm, I assume. It was Lyle Lovett - Road to Ensenada. I thought that the guitar part in the instrumental break sounded a lot like the guitar player from Moonalice - for about 30 seconds or so... No big deal.

Next song up was the song from Moonalice - really the only Moonalice song I can name - Blink of an Eye. No surprise there, I have favorited that song. But I had to check - but there were no common players on the songs.

WTF made the algorithm place those songs together? Coincidence? Random factors? Something in the waveforms? I would love to pour tequila and gummies into the Spotify developers and get the real story.

Am I programming them or are they programming me?
