They're playing a lot of breweries, it seems, and probably a tight radius. Probably all have day jobs. I assume they are still in Lexington but maybe scattered. Would love to see them at some regional festivals (I told them I hope they follow the path of 49 Winchester). They could easily do the several Starr Hill venues, and the rooms in Lynchburg and around. Maybe they are still doing colleges. I just checked them out today after hearing them (recorded) a couple weeks ago.
They have a heavy Drive By Truckers influence, and the "workingman" Earle/Isbel/Farley/Oliver theme.
They have a Facebook; website is idle.

Sounds right. I've been watching a bunch of great ABB videos; a nice one from 1982 when they went back to home town Gainesville; Dangerous Dan Toler is the other guitar. True to the song's legacy, Dickie plays Jessica with two fingers (mostly).Jack Pearson 97 or 98 I believeI can't find the year or who is the second guitar?
I also discovered and am exploring the Fox Box--8 CD set from 4 nights in Atlanta with Derrick Trucks. Will post some up soon!

here is an interesting Jessica 1984 at the Capitol but only one guitar; not ABB and I don’t think Great Southern either, although Chuck Leavell is on keys I believe. But this track surfaces to spotlight Dickie's guitar ability.

continuing the series, this one is interesting because it brings in 20 year old Derek Trucks, a shy lad, and it is as Dickie is on his way out. Watch Derek with his finger picking style (like Duane) and dickie's flat pick--the same match as Duane and Eric on D and the D and then Derek and Trey at Lockn Layla.
This show has Oteil, Butch, Jaimo, unknown to me drummer, Greg, Dickie and Derek. the opener, True Gravity, a Haynes/Betts tune, is as jammy a jam jam that reaches for the Dead and dispels any "Southern Rock" label.
But watch what happens at Franklin's Blue Sky Dream, where our new boy Derek outshines fading Dickie; he even whips out the Coricidin bottle.

My main problem with jambands that aren't the Dead is usually the lyrics*. Wish more of 'em would take a cue from the funk bands and just go instrumental. With Phish I feel like the problem is they've been together since college and when the lyrics even make sense they sound like they were written by an angsty freshman. If you must have vocals, stick to the nonsense lyrics!Phish released the first song off its upcoming album "Evolve". Heard the title song last night on the radio.
