Peach is a great deal for their festival. Their early bird ticket is only $99.

That said, I think their lineup was stronger the past two years than this lineup. I mean, I would go and I'm sure it will be great. I don't see it as some kind of mountain to climb, though.

And at a completely craptastic time of year when I can't take any time off work.

I wonder if Lockn' is paying them a little extra to not do other festivals so close in date to Lockn' (I have no idea what other line-ups are out there, so that may be a stupid comment based only on seeing this line-up).

So we could be in store for something that would make any Grateful Dead fan salivate and dig deep into their wallet no matter how many other festivals they hit up.

Just trying to stay positive, I guess. I know that's totally out of character for me, but it's fun to try it every once in a while.

Billy & The Kids are playing Wanee, but that's the only other one I know of. And there's a pretty good chunk of time between Wanee and Lockn'.

Yes, it's a bummer you won't be joining us Wanee-bound folks, but this one certainly does seem to be the wiser choice for your situation. Also, apparently we are getting my daughter a bunny for her birthday, so your crash space near Raleigh might be occupied by a Flemish Giant rabbit by April.

But I have to say, although I've already thrown my money at Wanee and Lockn', I'd be lying if I wasn't strongly considering this one too. That line-up is not shabby.

Artists' contracts often include agreements about where and when they can play other venues.

I'll admit I'm new to the fests but is there really a demand to buy early? It's not like assigned seats, unless you are buying into a limited area (like RV at Lockn). The early savings, when you look at what you spend for the whole weekend, is not that much--compared to the risk you buy early and then can't go.

It would be interesting to talk to the business guys about the percentage of revenue from early sales. Of course, the organizers give the discount to raise capital early--my guess is that is more important than stimulating sales.

Peach looks awesome - will be seeing JRAD two nights in New Orleans over Jazz Fest w/ Chimenti sitting in for Marco. Should be interested and I hope they to see them at Lockn.

Speaking of Lockn, they better announce something soon before we start making plans to go to Peach instead.
