And learned a valuable lesson about packing the both the sunscreen and the beer someplace that's easy to get to. glad to help! it ended up saving me, too. although i didnt spend as much time as most in the field after the gates open, i was there early enough that it was nice to have something to munch on through the night

This (and your unabashed distaste for Wilco) should make me hate you. Yet I don't. Between us we averaged out to a nice 5 1/2 hour typical entry time.

When I left home we were told to "bring i"t on wednesday 4pm. When we got tbere Wednesday at 2:30ish they said "Ummm, no, sorry no entry until 0900 thurs". We said you don't understand, WE'RE HERE. Couple hours later they said "well, OK, park up there in front of the gate, enjoy the show"
They had to bush hog the field before they let us in.
Is that pretty much the way you recall it Other 1?

I got to the field at 6am. At 9:20 the line started moving so I drove around some cars and an rv that were in front of me that no one was in, and eventually made my way to the front. It took me maybe another 10 minutes to get thru security and get my wristband, and I was setting up my tent by about 10:30.

Pretty much Bill. I remember calling CID and asking them how they were going to accomodate the convoy of RVs that was headed in. They said "oh shit" go wait in that line and see you in the morning.
