I think whether it has a problem or not was more about how much it personally impacted you. Don't think we are ever getting rid of it, suppression is really the only realistic goal...
Oh, and as far as the Phish Phans - yea, they've always had a reputation among the old deadhead circles I traveled in as creating kind of a bad scene - entitled, belligerent, disrespectful, trashy, etc. Even guys that went to Phish shows frequently. Any unwelcome scene was always greeting with a chorus of "phucking phish phans!" But, really, it was all in good fun (phun?).
This was actually my first time seeing Phish (the full band anyway), and they've definitely made me a phan. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of their music and antics, and, seriously, the phans were great! The trampolines on stage, the acapella Space Oddity, great music throughout. And I met many great people having fun and rapping dancing with.
Doesn't mean I'll stop making fun of them, though.
