Headphones: wired or wireless?

I've never noticed a significant difference in sound between my wired and wireless ones. Now bear in mind, I'm talking about buds. Buds with ear loops, but buds all the same. I wasn't aware that there was additional compression at the peripheral end, either. Thought it was garbage in, garbage out.

I love wireless for around the house. My wires were always getting snagged on dishwasher racks and slammed in drawers. It's nice to be able to change your shirt without pausing the music, too.

But I haven't had good luck with them outdoors. I don't really get the science on this, but the Bluetooth signal seems to be able to be blown away by the wind. I don't mean gale force, either - a light breeze. Like any other remote signal, it's strongest when it's closest, so one of those armbands for your device, especially worn on the same side of the phones that has the actual Bluetooth junk in it, should do the trick. Also, being bigger, you might have better luck with a pair of cans (disc jockey slang for over-the-ear phones).

Reflectivity of walls indoors could be helping signal strength? Do the headphones use any noise cancelling tech that could be over preforming? If Worf sends me his Roku, I will sacrifice my time to test why it works properly or not properly.

Hmmm, wonder if there's a way to jack them into a recorderer. Guess all you'd really need is to know the frequency (kenneth) and a radio to receive it on.

I am confused on so many levels
VIP front row and it's the $50 that makes that decision? Front row doesn't seem near as loud to me as 40-50 feet back unless you are in front of the stacks. Who cleans these headphones and with what between uses? Bowling shoes come to mind.

It's the being in front of the stacks I am worried about. The VIP section is to stage left so I may be in front of them. 

And just because I splurge on a NYE set of shows as a Christmas gift doesn't mean I spend money foolishly all of the time!
