All attention was on the left side of the road, so I didn't get the little section on the right where we camped for rockn' to lockn'. I'm not sure what the use for that area will be. That was a much smaller area and not much flat space.

That's taken right next to the road and I don't know how close to the road they will be loading....this backs up TOO's suggestion above.

Definitely side to side but that could mean a big drop from your steps if you are faced the wrong way, as you know.

Any issues with one axle lower than the other? I debated making something similar but little more difficult to store and a tad heavier.

They had a good variety, some stouts, dopplebock, pils, wit, IPAs. I got an Ardent IPA on my second (and last) visit. Great stuff.

To serve the beer they were demoing a new pour-your-own-beer system. Bring your own cup, step up to the draft you want, and pay for beer by the ounce. You put your card up to the tap (pre-loaded with money), and it deducts some amount from your card based on the amount of beer you pour. Of course for the demo they just hung up a bunch of cards there for everybody with unlimited beer funds.

No, I didn't get that impression at all. I think they were just showing off their equipment. I don't think you'll see any of those at Lockn' this year, but they might put some in next year, if the sales guy is any good.

I've seen bars (Vegas?) with a keg tap in the middle of the table--probably one flavor, though.

Something about beer travelling long distances in hoses puts me off some.

I suspect machines like that could not work at an event like lockn due to the inability to "card" everyone. Self-serve alcohol is an issue in Ol' Virginny, even for private catered events.
