2014 -- 24000
2015 -- 35000
2016 -- 25000
2017 -- 15000
Seems pretty consistent with other data around decline this year, though it doesn't support the #PhishSurge (unless Phishheads don't use computers). You can almost see the individual yearly traffic patterns as a reflection of the marketing campaign of Lockn, where more band drops in 2016 meant more spikes in traffic that year. Also, strong correlational data for the #SeptemberForever crowd since this years is the lowest and only august date. One big caveat would be that the 2017 data has likely not peaked yet. Can't explain what made 2015 the biggest year for page views. Mean would be ~25000, but standard deviation is ~8000, so hard to say that the variance in 2015 or 2017 (to date) are statistically significant. Statistics makes life more fun!

I hear this...
Just kidding, I love statistical data as well. I think we need another breakout session at the M&G for data mining...

I don't know what "more band drops in 2016" means.
2014 had band cancellations. And cell service didn't work for many, so fewer visits during the event. OTOH more people now have portable devices with internet access.
2015 was the best line up IMO. But it had band and event cancellations due to the storm that would drive traffic.
We have a few more high-traffic days left--pay no attention to the official count-down.

I think he means band announcements? But 2016 was a two tier announcement. Before that was the hint method where a band would be announced like every week.
