I really can't think of much that is more antithetical to Lockn' as K-Pop. (Not a comment on the countdown post, just musing)

But it just shows things go in cycles.  Record company (or corporate overlords) designs, creates, produces and (micro)manages boy(girl) band. Clothing, hair, choreography, makeup - all managed and marketed by said overlords. Music is programmed and reproduced in performance as closely as possible.  Packages with other bands are made and tours set out.

Sounds like the very early sixties...

The Grateful Dead were fucking invented to escape that shit.
