2020 Meet and Greet T-shirt poll

Anything for waycha and fish. And less than nothing for cancer. Why does it always take the good ones?

I'm not an easy size anymore though, unless you're Omar the Tent-maker. Maybe we'll have Sue get two or something, if there ends up being any selection.

My vote is for the screen names, if only for the esoteric value. Otherwise, I'm sure whatever design is eventually agreed on will be great.

Oh, and cancer can suck it. They say that in primetime now, so it must be okay.

Would the above design be sufficient? Any changes?

I just don't feel comfortable printing their names.

The folks at bonfire have been helpful and seem to be based in VA so, I'm leaning towards that site.

Hope to finalize the design tonight. A couple more questions.

Ladies, are you fine with the classic unisex tees? Fewer options mean more money for the cause but we can also offer tanks or ladies cut shirts.

What about colors?

So how does this work? Will we go onto a website, place an order and have it shipped to us?

I want to talk to Gavin's wife and see if she has any suggestions for the best way to direct the proceeds if that is OK.

Real question, why not put their names on it? I would prefer First "Handle" Last.

I have reached out to Kay to ask for her permission to use Gavin's full name. There is no one to ask permission for waycha and knowing him I'm sure it's fine. 

If we get some confirmation from Gavin's family I can change it to include their names. I just feel strange printing their names with no consent from family.

Maybe I'm being weird.

I will hold off on finalizing everything for a couple days, in hopes of hearing from someone.

No worries.  If they aren't tie-dyed, just tie-bleach-dye the solid color.  Instructions on You Tube for bleach dye (super easy).

I just read the post from his daughter and there's no mention or any inference of any kind of pushback. I hear what you're saying, not gonna argue about it. If it was me I would have put their full names on it and taken my chances but it's not. I have reached out to Gavin's wife asking her permission but have not heard back yet.

Here is the flag that I had made to honor Waycha. Yes, I put his full name on it. I'll take my chances. I'll go with the path of least resistance. Lobster, you have the final say.

Meet and Greet shirts

As I understand it, legally you can use a person's name or picture as long as it's not for commercial purposes, and I think the same would apply to copyrighted images such as the ZOSO. So if TOO makes one flag for himself, fine. If he makes a bunch and sells them, there could be a legal issue--even if he sells at cost--in theory.

Now, if someone didn't want a name or likeness used, and you did it anyway not for commercial purposes, it might be legal but not right. "That which is legally permitted is not always morally correct." That's where respect for Gavin's family's wishes would come in.

Also, not to be grim, but there are some legal distinctions about names and likenesses of those who have died. For example, you can't libel a dead person no matter what you say. I doubt that concept has any application to this discussion and remembrances, and lest I sound pedantic, nor do I think any of the legal considerations would cause a practical problem for the items discussed here.
