I really liked Worf's take on Cold Rain and Snow. We should do something better with that one, too.
I've been working on Brian and Robert by Phish. Didn't quite come out the way I would have liked.
I'll DM you a list of some of the songs i've been toying around with...
I never let sucking at lead stop me. Just keep on picking.

I'm also down with UJB though, if you all like that better.
I gotta agree with lobster about The Weight. I dunno what it is about that tune. I love it, and it's not SUPER hard, but I just don't enjoy playing it. Conversely one of my favs to play is Lyin' Eyes, and

If you guys find that my version of M&MU is too fast, we can go back and have raff lead. I'm better at different tempos with accompaniment; I don't like metronomes and click tracks because you end up sounding inorganic. You don't have provide separate audio either; I have software that can peel audio off of video. Best to upload the original to cloud storage and send a link, but I can peel off YouTube if I have to*.
You can all film or not additional lip sync/airband/random footage as you please. Just let me know when you're done producing content. If you need help, either with production or sharing, PM me.
The point is to just have fun!

One more thing: I don't know if there's even any confusion about this, but I play a four-stringed plectrum banjo. It is not a bluegrass instrument. It is, in fact, generally associated with Dixieland jazz. Not that I have a fraction of the talent to play Dixieland, mind you - I mostly play minimalist new wave and proto-punk, because I find the juxtaposition hilarious. The story of how I came to be doing that is longer than I want to type but you can send me a PM or ask me about it at the next Lockn if you're interested. LSS: if you were expecting some Earl Scruggs shit, I'm sorry to disappoint.
*I mean, you still have to have your part isolated so I can adjust the levels in the mixdown...

Now to Worf's other point, is there a chance we are going to do Ramones, Slickee Boys, or Sex Pistols bluegrass-like covers in the future? I may up my game if so.

I really have a lot of fun on "Cruel To Be Kind." Love to have some backup on that sometime. Sue is good for backing vocals in general, but the timing is weird and she doesn't have time with work to learn the part. I, on the other hand, have a mmm...goodish amount of time on my hands, though I do have some outdoor projects and chores. I can whip off a version and PM you a link if you like. Monkey with it or not at your leisure and if you work something out we'll see if anyone else wants in.
I also do some Tom Waits, and Sublime's Santeria in the style of Waits, because I can't hit the notes on the original and I'm unwilling to change key. That one gets people falling over laughing - I'll have to put up a YouTube of it here sometime. You guys oughta get a kick out of it.

Used to play "Don't Go Back To Rockville" quite frequently. Country-fried, so a little easier (at least for those of use who don't know how to arpeggiate. No one except The Byrds ever relied on arpeggiation like REM), but I'm gonna have to brush up on that a bit.

Anyone wants to play accordion, triangle, harpsichord, autoharp, wood blocks, cow bells, go for it! The more the merrier, and the more instruments and voices, the more it sounds like harmony, even if it isn't.

Would love for someone else to jump in too.
I am jamming mandolin along with the track now, may get something recorded tonight. The changes are a little tough for me on the mandolin but, I like a good challenge.
