Will LOCKN’ continue to charge my ticket layaway plan?

LOCKN’s Layaway Plan is currently paused. Although the original payment dates of April 15 and May 5 will still be showing on your account, you will not be charged on those dates. We are working with Front Gate Tickets on a revised payment schedule and will release it **soon**. Once the new schedule has been determined, you will receive an email from Front Gate Tickets giving you notice when the remaining payments will be charged.

I contacted [email protected] requesting a refund. I had already paid $172 on the layaway plan. Received an auto reply immediately, and about 30 minutes received an actual e-mail that said I would be receiving the refund in the next 30 days.

Me too and today is day 30 and still no refund. The clock hasn’t struck midnight yet, I guess.

I spoke with Melissa and she is processing refunds as fast as she can. Just a little more patience please.

Yep, took my next payment as well. If they don't have the festival I'll just roll my tickets over until next year.

Yea I was thinking since I had splurged and gotten SVIP, I might get a refund.  
 
But by the time they end up cancelling (if they do) it will be rolling up on early bird purchase time anyway by the time a refund would arrive.

My main factor in deciding for a refund will be if I still want to stay SVIP for next year or not.

Gotta be honest guys.I'm feeling a bit low about making some more substantial payments to an event that if i was a betting man, well you know. I'm trying to keep the faith and my chin up but these times are making financial decisions a lot more important. I just got hit as many others did with the most recent LA payment. It's not a surprise, I knew it was coming but it's still a bunch right now and it's gonna happen all over again in two weeks. All for an event that does not even have a lineup yet.  I'm sorry if I'm being a bit down about this but the current situation here at home and at the farm has got me in a Lockn funk. I'm all in for rolling it over till next year because I want to go that bad but that's a lot of money to be giving away for a year interest free.  I'm hoping some of the positive words and vibes that come from so many on this forum will bring me back to the light.

Even before the virus, something seemed ill-fated about Lockn 8 when they changed the date to June and shortened the duration to a three day festival.

It probably has been discussed here before, but could this all be just 'contractual chicken'?

Are there contractual/insurance/other legal complications where Lockn' needs to wait until the authorities force them to cancel?

Of course they could at any time decide to cancel on their own, and I don't know beans about these things, but could there be language somewhere that drastically alters the cost of cancellation if the governing body cancels Lockn's permits?

So Lockn' has to balance out the negatives associated with sitting on everyone's money vs. contingencies in contracts and insurance policies.

(I think a LOT of boilerplate language in contracts everywhere will be tested in court because of this...)

Or Lockn' has just decided to hardline it - just put on a show of any sort with whatever restrictions in place and if you have a ticket and decide not to come that's on you. But I think that might be the end of Lockn' as we know it if they do that.
