two bad points about the feds not being on board:

We have lots of Federal installations here and that would include national parks, national forests and seashores and certain parkways. Enforcement there is hard enough already. And speaking of enforcement, USCG and game wardens are federal.

If you want to buy a gun you have to fill out the background check and one question is whether you use pot unlawfully. Being a federal form, the question is by federal standards. Lying on the form is a huge federal crime, too.

I vaguely remember the original legislation at least partially targeting communities that were most affected by incarceration as a result of drugs to receive the most benefit.
