my name is Lynelle.
We are traveling from Tucson.
VIP camping
last concert was Tedeschi Trucks
Seen at least 50% of the bands. Seen all headliners except Tom Petty, who I'm looking forward to seeing.
My dream add in is Mickey. I'd do almost anything to see the MHB. His current band is like nothing you've ever experienced. Seriously. Takes you to an altered state with or without chemical assistance. He is a genius. What he has created is magic, pure and simple.
Been a Wanee girl up til now.
peace out

We've been checking out colleges for him. We live in Nashville but he wants to get to some other part of the country for school. Last September, I took him out to Denver and Boulder, and conveniently we caught Furthur at Red Rocks on Friday and Saturday nights. [Hope it wasn't the last time I see Bobby....] Then at Spring Break we looked at some schools in the Northeast and, lo and behold, managed to catch the Allman Brothers at the Beacon in NY right before that run ended. Now we are headed over to look at UNC on Thursday and UVA on Friday before moseying into Lockn Friday evening.
Name: I'm Steve. My son is Steve also. He's the younger one, but it's hard to tell.
Distance traveling to Lockn': Well, it's not that far from Nashville.
Camping area (or offsite): We're doing Family Camping. Steve III has done GA at Bonnaroo twice, and I've did it a couple of times before taking the plunge (a one-way trip) to VIP at 'roo the last three years, so we're OK with all the craziness of GA camping, but I'm thinking that we can get a little more sleep in Family, and best I can tell it is right next to the venue, which would be pretty sweet.
Most excited for (Thursday): Won't be there until Friday, but love Umph and The Cheese. Seen each multiple times (UM at 'roo twice, at the Ryman, and on the Riverfront in Nashville; SCI at Red Rocks with my daughter and at the Ryman a couple of times).
Most excited for (Friday): Virtually everybody. Actually psyched to see what BK pulls out of his hat. Saw the Grateful Dead in '89 and '95, and (I know this is controversial) I think Jerry would love the idea of mixing up the music with some trippy electronica stuff.
Most excited for (Saturday): Panic! Plus, Steve Winwood is my neighbor (no, I don't know him), so that will be especially cool.
Most excited for (Sunday): Bummer - gotta head home Sunday morning, but at least not early.
Lockn' artists I've seen before: SCI, Umphreys, Wood Brothers, Lettuce, [Grateful Dead and Furthur, but not Phil & Friends], Preservation Hall, Del McCroury (at the Ryman, awesome!), Tedeschi Trucks, Tom Petty, Wilco, Gary Clark, Sam Bush (with String Cheese at the Ryman!), ABB. Basically, almost everyone on the bill! Bonnaroo and living in Nashville will do that to you.
Artist from the undercard I recommend: It's a toss-up, with Chris Robinson a close second behind Bustle in Your Hedgerow. Haven't seen either, though, so it's not really a recommendation.
The one song I absolutely must hear: Dear Mr. Fantasy with Winwood sitting in.
If I could add one artist to Lockn' it would be: My profile says "Jerry," but if I had to choose a living artist, I'd probably say STS9 or Pretty Lights because that shit will blow you away and I gather that some of the Lockn crowd is old like me and might appreciate getting a dose of what the kids are all listening to.
Prior festival experience: Five times at Bonnaroo.
Last concert attended: Three weeks ago I saw Phish in Atlanta on Sunday and Rodrigo y Gabriella at the Ryman on Friday.

Most excited for (Thursday): seriously, once Lettuce starts up Thursday is going to be a booty shakin' good time. I can't pick a favorite. I'm so damn excited!
Most excited for (Friday): Phil
Most excited for (Saturday): WSMFP w/ Winwood
Most excited for (Sunday): ABB. Does anyone else even matter?
Lockn' artists I've seen before: Lettuce, Phil and Friends, WSP, Derek and Susan, ABB, Grace, Keller, and unfortunately SOJA (disclaimer about soja: I was a freshman in college and they were playing at a local hotel bar/club and my hall mates wanted to go. It was awful. I'll never do it again.)
Artist from the undercard I recommend: I'm not really sure what the "undercard" is, but I strongly recommend checking out Lettuce.
The one song I absolutely must hear: I'd love to hear TTB play Space Captain, but I'm fairly certain they did that last year so I won't hold my breath for that. I can't wait for In Memory of Elizabeth Reed. And depending who does the vocals (cough- Alecia Chakour is she's there w/ Lettuce - cough), Althea would be a dream come true. I'll try to keep the singing along to a minimum
If I could add one artist to Lockn' it would be: Well originally, I was hoping Lettuce would be added, and then it actually happened. So, now I've got my fingers crossed for a holographic Jerry.
Prior festival experience: Bonnaroo 04 (at the ripe age of 17 - what were my parents thinking?), 05, and 09. Moogfest 2010 (judge me if you want, it was a fun stage of my life while it lasted, and I will always like Pretty Lights.). Floydfest 2011. Wanee (aka heaven on earth) 2012. All Good 2013. XMas Jams 2011 and 2013. So, I've been to a few.
Last concert attended: Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration in Charlottesville a few weeks ago.

where does this come from? My dad (their grandfather) loved all music and those who loved music. When I was in 7th grade he drove us to see Jethro Tull--just after Aqualung--about an hour away. and he went to the show.
When I took my daughters to Further I was among many we called the Grateful Dads.
