I'll admit, there have been times when my headlamp has caused more harm than good. I have a little LED light that clips on to my cap brim. Runs on watch battery, and it's small enough for hand held. Being on the brim, it also has less glare than one on my forehead. Only problem is when I'm not wearing a cap.

That's just that glow coming off you from being so happy from a good day of music, plus being a little lit up. i, uh, didnt have any problems finding my camp either year. i thought the lighting was fine. lit main path, no intrusive lighting in the camping area

I definitely recommend a light of some sort. Helps in the porta potties after dark.

Never once had a Morman come to my door that had a beard of any kind. Usually pretty clean cut. More like one of the Hasidim, or an Amishman (there's plenty around here).disguised as a Mormon to smuggle beer--the irony---the irony---

That beard with a white or blue shirt, black pants, black shoes, and suspenders. With a straw hat. Many Sports Authorities are closing, and are currently having Going Out of Business sales, although they don't seem to be advertising it at all. There could be more or even the entire chain, or so goes the speculation in the commercial bankruptcy press.
Anyway, check your local stores; this may present an opportunity for camping equipment, rain gear, etc. for Lockn' as well as other toys.

they are owned by K-mart. Not sure of the territory; I heard they have 400 stores and are closing 140. Two are in my area so they may be closing regions as well as non-performing stores.

Festival Survival Kits
I usually make these little kits for my friends that I travel with. I place these items (trial size when available) in a zip top bag and friends can either put the whole zip top bag in their backpacks or choose what they need/want to carry in their pockets. And the zip top bag can be reused for a number of things.
Gold Bond- trial size
Lighter
Toilet seat covers
Tissue packet
Ear plugs
Glowstick w/ string attached
Small flashlight w/ extra battery
EmergenC packs x4
Chapstick
Hard copy of your crew's phone numbers on index card
Condoms
Wipes

hey I have a funny condom/Shakori Hills story: Useta be the police presence there was non-existent, but they've gotten pretty strong lately, which pisses me off. One of the booths on advocate's row does free AIDS testing and gives out condoms, so I took one, inflated it, and when the PoPo weren't watching tied it to the radio antenna on the car they park by the ticket booth, and then sat back and watched everyone walking by and cracking up. So satisfying! Now it's the highlight of every festival--the ritual condom decorations on the cop car.

When I was in college, my buddy surreptitiously slapped a Dead sticker on the local cop's car. This is not that difficult in a town with one stoplight.

Which would then be Exhibit A, if the cop takes it the wrong way.
The story reminds me of how my get-away car was decorated at my wedding, with those same balloons. But the best was the one on the tailpipe that inflated and jetted into the crowd, 'bout knocking a drink out of an auntie's hand.

In fact, they're heavy enough that you'll think you still have beer when you don't. But if cold beer is what you desire, you can't do better. I have passed out in my chair for about an hour, woke up and my beer was still ice-cold.

I need the sage advice of this group. The two methods I have used to put up my flagpole are an under the tire flagpole stand and strapping it to my EZ up. At Peach we're going to be in a tent-only situation without our EZ up. I'm thinking there has to be some way to use the under the tire stand without the car. Ideas?

Maybe a concrete patio stone with a water jug on itI need the sage advice of this group.
