Your epic run has helped inspire me to kick off my little run with the Sol slam mountain jam this weekend. Can't wait to hear about front porch fest, know it's good if you guys like it.
It felt like a private keg party on your friend's farm last night, so good.

Yesssssss.... But what about the music???
I'll bet he's one of those Tent Stumblers.
Crickets and cicadas sing... A rare and different tune...

Yes, there was music. A lot of it was great. The rest of it was good...

I was never a big fan of the smaller festivals - I wanted to see the mid-to-top level bands. But after stepping down to Rooster Walk, then to the Infamous Weekend and finally the About Time festival at Alder Creek I have changed my tune. (See what I did there!?) As long as the people picking the bands have good judgement, there is a lot of fun to be had at a small festival.

I really can't think of any negative I would tell the festival to improve on for next year.

Ok, if I was forced upon threat to my life to find one negative thing to say about this festival, a couple of the day bands were clearly filler or 'front porch fest family members'
But most of the day sets were sparsley attended anyway, so no big deal. And there were good day bands. Lua Flora is going into my big playlist of good bands I've seen.
TOO is right, the whole thing had a house party/keg party feel to it. A ton of the attendees were there as volunteers and they all were having a great time, which was a really good vibe for the whole weekend.
So I didn't mind when one of them was on stage stumbling through his acoustic set of 90s rock on a Sunday afternoon. Is that what I would want to pay money to see at a bar or venue at home? Not a chance.
But a slightly buzzed me on a sunny Sunday afternoon in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains thought it was great. By the time he got to "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town" I was all in.

From looking at the 'Thanks to the Staff' picture on the festival facebook page, the staff/volunteers must have been almost 50% of the attendees (or more).
