So I am in preferred tent-only camping. We do not (obviously) get a vehicle at our campsite. One of the reasons (minor) I selected that option was that I then have the option to leave for supplies and return, whereas you cannot do that with car camping. So I was curious if anybody did that last year and how big of a pain it was to get in and out of there. So, just for instance, I could not worry about the 1 case of beer limit and get up in the AM and run to the store and restock. Anybody do this last year? Is that a viable plan? Hopefully just 1 trip, not a trip every day and my festival will be just fine if I don't leave. I actually hope I don't leave, just want to know what that looks like if I do want to.

What if they don't let you back in to the same park spot? That would be a bummer. I too am in Preferred Tent and was wondering about in/out policy the other day.... there is supposedly some awesome fried chicken stand in Lovingston called the Chicken Coop...thought it would be fun to get a bucket for the camp since we aren't cooking due to flying in....

You can leave if you have to, but there is no re-entry into Car Camping. You'll be asked to return your car to the Day Parking lot (and purchase a Day Parking pass) if you return.

True for car camping since the cars get absorbed into the village but for preferred, where the cars are off site in a parking lot, it
seems logical you could re-park there. On the other hand, if folks are driving back to the fest area, they'd have to be re-searched lest
they are bringing in a Tabasco bottle or a swiss army knife.

So if you are banished to day parking on your return, it's a long hump to camp, and worse when you move out. Plus you have to pay!
I'd clarify with a higher up before leaving, and get his name and position (cell # if you can) for your safe passage back.

Are you sure about this? Last year they were parked on the hill right by the camping.

RE Entry is allowed the Vehicle will not be permitted back to the Tent only camping parking sites. if you remove your vehicle from that parking area you will have to pay for a 25 dollar day parking pass and figure out the logistics of getting your gear out.

I am staying at a B&B a couple miles from the Fest so I will be in the day parking lot and can come and go as I please. I will be happy to make beer runs during the day with anyone who wants to go so you don't have to move your car. The supermarket is less than a mile away

This is a rule change for this year. Last year I specifically asked Lockn' if I could leave tent only parking during Fest and return and they told me yes. I did not do that but know people who did and got back into the tent only lot. The "No Reentry" disclaimer on the official web site is new to tent only this year.

Last year I did preffered for the main reason of being able to go into town for supplies if I needed to. This year the rules say you can't. The parking last year for preferred was right next to the camping area, and west of RV. When I parked my car I found a great spot to camp maybe 50 yards away. Some people were even able to unload they're cars first, and then park.
