Super excited for this, yet, confused as to the logistics. Where will we be parked, will it be a far walk? My girlfriend and I are coming with another couple. Can we bring to tents? Will an ez count as our tent? How far will the walk be? And last but not least.. 15 MORE DAYS!!!!!!

If you bought 1 forest camping pass you are allowed to have 1 tent and 4 people in that tent.... More tents or more people means buying an additional camp pass. Car will be parked nearby, walking distance.
Bringing a wagon to transport your gear (and then use it as a coffee table) is always a good idea.

FYI, Lockn just posted to Facebook that Forest Camp passes are almost sold out.
I didn't camp there last year... but it looks to be in the same spot, as there is only one forested area on the map.... I'm sure others who know the space better than I do will chime in...
Glad to hear you will be there all 4 days...it's the only way to fully experience a fest like this!

I didn't do it last year, but it looked pretty legit. They definitely took time to clear out the brush and make a nice wooded area to camp in.
This year it is in a different location, so I can't say much else.

Just checked the distance conversion on google earth from the entrance of forest camping to entrance of the stage area. It is .91 miles. DAMN thats a far walk

Does anyone know about how far it will be from the parking lot to the forest camping spots? I'm trying to figure out how much gear I can drag in.

According to Google Earth's path feature, it is approximately 1.16 miles from the closest point of the car parking to the closest part of the forest camping area.Does anyone know about how far it will be from the parking lot to the forest camping spots? I'm trying to figure out how much gear I can drag in.

I just assumed he had forest camping and wanted to know how far it is from the forest camping parking to the camp site. But he could be meeting someone there and lugging his gear from car parking. I would not want to do that.

How is security for forest camping? In other words, while watching the shows, what are you comfortable with leaving at your campsite? Coolers, stove etc?

Anyone have forest camp site pics they could share? I'm sure other noobs like myself would like to see what we can expect. I'm hoping for some hammock space.
Pretty excited about this whole forest camping at a festival. Waking up to a 105 degree tent in a blazing field is a hell of a way to start to the day. The shaded suburbs are sounding pretty sweet!

Personally.....and this is just me....I wouldnt leave any valuables at your campsite. Your car wont be far away. Any kind of electronics or whatever I would keep in you vehicle. Just my $.02!

Anybody know if there are specific instructions for forest campers as far as entrances to use and directions (like I know RVs go to certain entrance)? I assume it will be like last year coming in from HWY 29 and jumping on Oak Ridge Rd until you turn off to park, but I hope I am wrong tho and that there is a back entrance for forest campers.

The new map shows Forest Camping all the way in the bottom, in the trees(which is great obv, and why I paid the $$), is this where it was last year, or is this the 'new' location? I've read a number of people mention(just in various threads) it's moved since last year.
- For those familiar with the updated map - what kind of time frame do you anticipate for walking from forest camping <> stage area? Short enough for a simple camp re-charge?
- If this is the new spot, where was it before?
Thanks - just trying to gauge what to expect!

I attended last year but didn't do forest camping (walked by and looked in and was sold for this year since it looked awesome). If I remember correctly, the entrance to forest camping was right where the label "RV Ridge" is on the map. I think forest camping is in the same place but it looks like they expanded it to include more of the wooded area. Depending on how far back in the woods ya are.. it'll be around half a mile from venue entrance to woods entrance I think (by using google). Thats exactly why my friends and i picked forest. I will gladly walk father to get as much sleep as possible. Im on of those people that the sun will wake me up no matter what time it is. So i said feck it.

I highly doubt they're prohibited for any reason, but it may just be a schlep(they're heavy) to get it from your car > forest camp site. I'm bringing some ropes and a tarp and will just fashion a rain/shade cover hangout out area in front of my tent. Trees should make that plan easy. FWIW, if I could bring my ez-up I would.....they're clutch for fests and you can make a nice living room area, but I'm flying and gotta be creative.
