When will Bill's All-Stars be announced?

Take out EOTO, add haynes and John K and I'd be excited. As it stands, I'll be there, I'll try and keep an open mind, but if I hear some "bass drop" I'm gonna drop back and get myself a beer and a slice of zaa.

I'm very confused with all of this.

As a old fart I have to say I like this. I would't go out of my way to see them but if it was close I'd go. But remember they are guest & will be playing along with other artists on stage. And what I'm reading in the Rolling Stone story is they will stick to GD music, just not trying to replace Jerry or recreate GD. Says he has a duty to include the new generation. All sounds good to me.

Its really too bad they couldn't get JRAD. That would have sounded so much better to me. Hey, we went from three sets of Dead music with Ratdog, Phil and Furthur, to one Phil set and EDM. Not a fair trade in my book by any stretch.

I like the collection of musicians Bill is bringing. There's a lot of diverse styles going on with the group and guests that will bring a unique take on the Dead's music. Bill's a creative guy and good for him to follow his muse. Same with all the surviving members of the Dead. I love how each brings their own vision to how to extend the band's legacy, either on their own or teamed up together.

I'm not much of a fan of the commercialized EDM that passes today for what people consider electronic music. But there are some really different and talented artists working in the electronic area that go way beyond the "wait for the bass drop" cut and paste crap. I'd say EOTO is in the category of interesting electronic artists.

I'm confused because I can't tell if they are they coming in as EOTO or as the percussion people from SCI? Do they play instruments in EOTO or just the midi and all that stuff?

I'm sorry, did I miss something? The schedule I last showed on Friday night it was SCI, Bill K., & Phil. It now reads SCI, Bill K., SCI, Phil.

Does that make anyone else feel like something may get added to Saturday as well?

that is 10 people playing friday and only 8 saturday, now one of those 10 is the contest winner, so still one extra slot.

The promoters sure know how to keep my attention right up until the day of.

all things considered I am stoked for the BK all stars. Def bummed about no further and no bobby and john k (got to believe we will see him with PLF at least one of the days) but I'm real happy about the core group of bill, oteil, kimock and magner. They should provide an interesting take on dead tunes. I've seen a good deal of Bisco and Magner could really augment this group well in my opinion.

I also think some folks are focusing too much on EOTO. I don't see this being an EDM set by any stretch. If done right the space/trance sound could take the tunes to a whole new place they havnt been before. Also really pumped that we will get taj and Keller on the main stage now for sure. This provides a shared experience for everyone at the festival. It could be great or it could be meh but it should be defferent from what most of us have listened to before. And I can't imagine most people at going to want to miss at least checking it out. Therefore I think the promoters have done a respectable job here. Now this does put a lot of pressure on PLF to really throw down with the grateful vibe that everybody wants to hear.
