My issue (yea, I've a lot - I wonder where GA/GARV will be entering? That is in response to this FAQ: I have a VIP event ticket, but a GA RV pass. How will I enter into the Festival?
it does seem somewhat confusing. What if you have a GA ticket and GA RV pass? It does seems based on this that all RVs go thru the VIP tollbooth.

Sounds like you will have some careful explaining to do.
As a VIP not RV, my concern is the hold-up since it logically would take more time to search an RV. Hopefully we come in one gate and
are sorted without stopping, to go in different directions.
We're all (RV, VIP and SVIP)coming in from the east on Oak Ridge Road, apparently. Then:
GA-RV's will go east, up the hill and VIP-RV's south to the infield.
VIP cars go southwest to the infield or northwest to the steeple chase.
Meanwhile GA is coming in directly from 29 to the west.

Sounds like you will have some careful explaining to do.
As a VIP not RV, my concern is the hold-up since it logically would take more time to search an RV. Hopefully we come in one gate and

The answer in the FAQ was for someone with a VIP ticket and ga rv pass.
Probably the same location...maybe not.

Based on the updated map it seems like GA RVs should follow the same entrance via Front Street as the S(VIP)'s. I know VIP's may not be thrilled about that but getting RVs out of the way is good news for everyone else and makes sense based on where RV Camping is. Does everyone agree?

I don't agree as this is the VIP entrance. I am sure there will be signs directing GA RVs to the proper entrance. By the way these directions are backwards. Should read:Based on the updated map it seems like GA RVs should follow the same entrance via Front Street as the S(VIP)'s. I know VIP's may not be thrilled about that but getting RVs out of the way is good news for everyone else and makes sense based on where RV Camping is. Does everyone agree?

I thought they were backwards as well but I think it reads as if you are traveling from the north on 29 south, etc. If you look at the map it makes sense this way. Bottom line is you need to head east off of 29 regardless of which way you are traveling. I don't agree as this is the VIP entrance. If GA RV is not supposed to come in from the east on oak ridge road why does the new map say S(VIP) GA RV "IN"? I do see your point if they will have all GA RVs come in from the west, drive past the track to the north on OaK Ridge and then enter at the same place as VIPs though.

If your coming from the south going north it's 3 miles past the main gate & turn right at the first traffic light by the McDonald's. Then 6 miles of winding around on country roads. That should be fun for the RV'S.

I thought only the VIPs had to carry the Super VIPs on their shoulders...did not realize that we would be double-stacked. GA<VIP<SVIPThey have to share an entrance. Got this today from CID re VIP check-in:
Hi David,
Thank you for completing our Lockn' arrival survey - we wanted to get back to you in regards to your inquiry about arrival on Friday. The steeplechase campgrounds are also reserved for VIP guests but this campground will be the first to fill up. Since you are arriving on Friday, you are more likely to be placed in the other VIP campground in the race track. However when you check-in you can ask if there is space available in steeplechase.
Additionally here are some helpful directions to get to VIP check-in
Coming from the north on US 29 (Driving South) Turn Left on Front St Drive 0.3 miles to James River Rd Drive Turn Right on James River Rd Drive 3.1 Miles to Oak Ridge Rd Turn Right on Oak Ridge Rd Drive 2.7 Miles to Diggs Mountain Rd Turn Left onto Diggs Mountain Rd and then an immediate left again through Gate One Be prepared to present your VIP passes as you enter the gate.

guests that will have access to this entrance will be those have that GA RV passes
or have purchased one of our GA cot rentals. All other GA guests will need to use
the other GA entrance.

1. The map has one entrance for RV and VIP
2. The instructions sent to VIP's said RV and VIP use the same "toll booth."
Seems as reliable as anything else, but nothing is guaranteed and anything can change. Just act on the best info and be flexible.

Diggs mountain road is west of the stadium almost back to 29.

Don't see left then left again on Diggs Mtn Road. GIS data for Nelson Co is awful.
My hope is that they dont make all the GA RV follow this route to the toll booth and the back track to the RV Ridge Entrance...... I would hope GA RV can just enter RV Ridge/Gate where Oak Ridge road changes from South to West.

Hey now, we're coming in from as far away as Maine, and Chicago. We're all in RV's and want to go in together. Last year we camped out in line in what they're calling the Outfield this year. Is there some place along 653 to assemble our troops and perhaps chill for a few hours.
If you know any place let us know please.

Best suggestion is to find a WalMart in Charlottesville to hang/overnight and then head south to Lockn (35-45 mins).
There isn't much near Oak Ridge Estates.
