My expectations were far exceeded. They really put on a great show. This is a solid band and I hope their collective schedules allow them to tour together down the road.
Also, I am about 99% sure as I glanced into the crowd from the upper level that I saw none other than mccjeff rockin' out. Sadly the place was packed and maneuvering through the crowd to say hello was not possible.

Only 3 more dates left to see this.
11/6 The Filmore – Silver Springs, MD
11/7 The Rex Theater – Pittsburgh, PA (Sold Out)
11/8 Soundstage – Baltimore , MD
Wish I would have known you were going to be there @snyooterdynck. Got to hang with NCLockn but FishinHatteras bailed. He chose poorly.
What happens if I take both?

Came across this from my YouTube alerts. It's from the Halloween show in Pennsylvania, though.

John was in good form, voice strong and he even danced a bit. He added a drummer and went electric for a few songs. Great night.

First set was Jimmy and The Invisible Whip. The band is comprised of Jeff Sipe-Apt Q258 (drums), Matt Slocum (B3 and Clavinet), Jason Crosby (Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Violin) and Kevin Scott (bass).
Second set was John McLaughlin and the 4th Dimension with Ranjit Barot (drums), Gary Husband (keyboards, drums), and Etienne M’Bappé (bass).
Third set was all of the above playing Mahavishnu Orchestra tunes.
They had to take a set break just to allow some notes to leak out of your head to a safe level before continuing. It was a sit down show and I was glad. It kept everyone focused on the music. Herring, McLaughlin and Crosby on violin all ripping the same phrases simultaneously was almost impossible to comprehend in real time. A absolutely stunning display of virtuosity.
There is still time to destroy any brain cells that have somehow escaped maceration.

I gifted my Meeting of the Spirits DC tics to my eldest (conflict with Prine on same night). She offered a similar review. Really enjoyed the Language of the Drums. Something I had never heard of but I'm enjoying learning a bit about.

Mega regret. Had to sell my very good, hand picked seat to attend a family wedding. Had seen the first night webcast and that made it even worse. Jealous of those who caught/catch this. Filed in the 'can't do it all' warehouse.

Checkin em out in DC at The Anthem on Saturday night. They killed it in Dewey Beach back in August. One pet peeve of mine are ticket prices when these acts come through DC. You can see the prices for the tour $20-25 every night, except when they hit DC, $40+fees. TTB are the worst offenders.. many times charging $40 a ticket all tour long.. then they hit DC.. $80+ fees.

As a capitalist, I don't mind bands getting what they can, especially long-time, deadicated and talented bands like DSO. But I suspect much of the mark-up has to do with what it costs to hire the facility. I don't know The Anthem but they previously played the 9:30 typically.
As a tightwad, I hate seeing the upcharges and wish it was still $10.

Mojo Hand (?)
Space--mercifully short
Bid you Goodnight
Filler encore Too Hot to Handle
