Whatever your feelings about recording parts of shows on your cellphone, I feel like there are a lot more reasons not to do this than there are to do it. Lots of unintended consequences, and if this was actually put out to market there is no reason to think it would only be used at concert venues. Don't think I want just anyone who can get their hands on it (legally or illegally) to be able to disable my phone's camera function.

Yup, cops hate it when you record interactions with your phone.  You think they wouldn't disable cameras if they could?

I find watching a band through the opening of someone's upraised arms, and under their tiny screen, as annoying as flags, totems and cardboard cut-outs. Somehow, their arms often get jostled if I am close enough.
