How long did it take you to get in?

Took bout 2 1/2 hours from making the uturn on 29 to being set up in the back of camp one.

I worked Thursday so Thursday night I got in about 10:00. Not a single car infront of me. No cars getting searched infront of me. I had been reading all the horror stories and was prepared to wait until like 3 or 4 AM. Not the case

We were in line by about 3 am on Thursday morning - we were in the second line of cars, probably within the first 100 or so cars.  We were through security by 9:38 am, and set up at the campsite by 10:30 am.

I got in line at 1:15, and didn't get to my campsite until 7:30. We took the Arrington Rd exit for camping. Traffic moved breezily at first, and then slowed down drastically. We got to the Box Office at 4:45. It took another two hours before we reached the lines for the toll booths. The line we had gotten into was actually not a line at all, and we had to merge into the line beside us. Then we eventually reach the car camping 2 entrance and are stopped for 20 minutes while the volunteer that was directing traffic stopped a car and talked to the driver. Eventually, we got into the car camping only to be stopped again for 25 minutes while the volunteers just kind of stood there and looked at us. I felt like it was pretty disorganized, and that there is a lot of room for improvement. Like cones marking the lines for the toll booths, and try to be more open about alternate entrances like the one at car camping 2 where there was absolutely no line.

We had to wait about 45 minutes but then we were the first two RVs in line on Wed. about 3pm. We ended up camped in the VIP RV area about 50 feet from the entrance. It really could not have been better.

The damn VIP holding area was ridiculous. Came in Wednesday night at 8:30 pm and was told we would be getting out at 6AM Thursday, to our campsite before any others were allowed in. Finally got to our campsite around 1:30pm. I was unable to enjoy much of the music on Thursday due to the pain I was in because of sitting in a truck with a broken hip for 17 hours.

I arrived at the VIP entrance right when the gates opened and it took us about 3 hours to get in and get set up. We did not miss any music. We were not that far back in line to begin with, but there was the whole corral of people that arrived the night before that had to funnel out of a single lane which looked like a nightmare!

Y'all are scaring me...I've been to a lot of fests and have NEVER had to wait more than 30 minutes to get in!

All the ones I've been to are fairly small--less than 15,000 people--this will be the first big one I've been to.

A party unto itself.  Yeah...that's it.  I drank several beers and made lots of new friends.  And learned a valuable lesson about packing the both the sunscreen and the beer someplace that's easy to get to.  Thank you again to the miracle stranger who loaned me the sunscreen in the Field of Broken Dreams last year!  You saved my festival!  And thanks to Sneake for including the suggesting for a foot-long sub in the cooler for the first day's food.  Would have starved without it!
