PSA for those with young children

Tragedy struck my work yesterday. A young father, in a hurry to get to work, forgot to drop his infant son off at day care. On one of the hottest days of the year, he left his precious son in the car in the blazing son. The day care called the mother, the mother called the father. The father rushed to his car but the child had passed and could not be revived. AFAIK, it's still under investigation and no charges have been filed.  One of the ideas people have pointed out is to put your bag/briefcase/whatever on the floor of your backseat if you have a child with you. A simple move that could save a life. It seems as though the whole campus was grieving and offering support to the father, who must be beside himself with grief and guilt.  People rush to blame the parents for forgetting, but it's an interesting part of how the human brain works.
