It’s an interesting question as to how it will evolve socially. Still illegal in public, so technically you are at a private party if you are legal. If it’s your party, just start smoking and share. Somebody else’s, well see Smosey’s advice. Otherwise get a vap like the Pax2 that Worf recommended to me. We used it at a sidewalk dinner table 50ft from a cop in downtown Asking for a friend: since it's totally cool to have a beer with business people; what are the rules for smoking weed (legally in VA) with business people? Raleigh City in Virginia and no one batted an eye. Left it sitting on the table in plain sight. At least there is one upside to all the vap lords.

back in the 80's at the beginning of the school year at grad school there was a keg party, no one knew each other yet, and for at least an hour no one was smoking (cigarettes). This was back in the day when it was OK to smoke inside and around people. This friend of mine shows up, and he doesn't give AF and lights one. Within five minutes half the people were smoking--they had all been holding but no one wanted to go first. I would expect the same dynamic.

The new laws will impact the existing issue on work-place drug testing. Think if they had a test that on Monday, showed you had been drinking on Friday night. Relevant to anything?

This is a long standing issue and why drug tests are mainly just marijuana tests. Since coke, meth, alcohol and other drugs are water soluble, they go away quickly. Fat soluble pot, not so much. An accurate test would test you for comprehension and agility on the spot relative to the work requirements, not for a chemical in your system. It's a lazy test. You could be on prescription opioids, fail a drug test and have no problem, yet still be a danger to yourself or others. Additionally, since it is still a Federal crime, the workplace can fire you for cause even if you comply with state law. Need federal changes to marijuana laws, as if that needed stating. And companies can have any policy they want regarding alcohol, smoking, weed etc. At least I think so.
I they can fire you for tattoos, then they can fire you for smoking legal weed at home.

Somewhat concerned about the path forward to full legalization.
2022: Tickets bagged for Bonnaroo and Floydfest.
2023: will buy Lockn tickets the second they go on sale.
