me too 1974 in a football stadium in Norfolk with Jesse Colin Young and Elvin Bishop.
I mention it b/c they recently released a 40 song CD/box set? from that tour, much of it recorded at Cap Center in DC so I hear. To me,
that was when they were at their finest--or still fine as the case may be.
when that CD set was released--and before--it got a lot of airplay on our FM station; I have it on my list to buy. 4 way street and
deja vu are on wax (with the fake leather cover on the latter).
Trivia: Jerry garcia played the pedal steel on "Teach Your Children"
BTW there's a fairly recent release of Crosby singing "Keep Rocking in the Free World", and sounds sort of like Drive By Truckers. A
song I detest when Neil or Neil imitators sing it; I like this one. But I also like the DBT even though Patterson H can sound like NY.

The whole thing is really starting to piss me off, though. We all have people at work that we don't care for, Mr. Young. No one's asking you to marry the guy; just a a few rehearsals and share the stage a bit.
It especially gets me hot under the collar when you say stuff like "it's not about the audience." If it weren't for the fact that you could probably live on the residuals from Harvest alone, I'd say that since you've spent a good part of your career threatening to quit anyway, maybe you should just fuck off and do it. We, the audience, your FANS, are what made you a star. No one becomes a rock star in a vacuum. Go drive a truck or whatever for a few years and see how much you like the workaday world. See how much of a shit people give about your sons' cerebral palsy when you're Joe Shmoe from Idaho and not a household name. Let's see what kind of star power your precious Bridge School gets then.
Whether you like it or not, you owe us. Jerk.

Yes, I like csny, but do we really want any part of them feuding? That could suck. The whole Phil Bill Steve thing this year left me with a sad feeling. If they made up it could bring a whole new vital energy but if they are in a pissing match who wants that polluting the scene. Jerry said, "any scene with more drag energy than forward thrust is doomed to crash."
And I didn't know Neil said it wasn't about the fans. In what context? Because if it is in its simple meaning then I am with you Worf, fuck him.

Anger, disappointment, frustration, open hostility, and venting. Thanks for reminding me to love through all of that.
P.S. I had to process a lot more of these emotions when Bob canceled before I could feel any love for him or his situation. Sorry your first experience on this board left you with that impression. I hope you look back at the 99.9% of previous posts that are kind, loving, funny, playful, enlightened, insightful, inspiring, motivating, caring, hopeful, and most of all genuine. I cannot tell you how much the people on this board mean to me and have done for me and how much I love they are real and very human.

There are plenty of bands where the members are not friends, or even dislike each other, yet they suck it up and put out good music
and put on good shows. Not only is it their job, it's good business.
In many respects, the musician is just a stage actor, and his role is to put on a good show, which may entail masking his personal
feelings about a band member, as well as the town, venue and fans. Imagine a broadway play of Sound of Music where Maria is a total
bitch to everyone and yells at the kids because she thinks the Austrian dude is a pretentious prick?

That is true but it inevitably influences the chemistry, especially in jam bands. I don't think they have a right to shit on the fans no matter what the drama is. At the US Festival Tom Petty was so drunk they pulled him after a few songs and it still irritates me. Professionalism is key!
