Pictures of 1973 Summer Jam Rock Festival at Watkins Glen

Wow! THAT brings back good memories! At some regular one day concerts, we used to get to the venues the day before and hang out and party all night the night before. After it was over a lot of us would head for the beach and party and camp on the beach all nite. Fun times!

Yeah, you posted it and I watched it. It was cool. I couldn't find it either, although I didn't look very hard.

I'm kinda obsessed with this concert, since I was less than an hour away and still couldn't attend...because I was two years old.

I was there at summer jam. I hitch hiked 500 miles without a ticket, and had maybe ten bucks in my pocket. It was awesome. No food, no vendors, no anything but fantastic music.

Ended up partying late in the night with the NYC chapter of Hells Angels. Didn't sleep, and early Sunday morning I hitch hiked home and showed up for summer school class on Monday morning.

Still going to festivals, including both Lockns.

Back in the '80's, some good friends and I used to ride up to the Harley Rendezvous, and to the AmJam in Duanesburg Ny. We were independents with no colors or affiliations, but we did fly a "family" flag, that was black with a dancing skeleton at our camping area. We were approached by HAMC of Albany and NYC and were asked about our flag and if we were a recognized club by the HAMC. We let them know that we were just a tight band of fun loving good friends, and that the flag just represented our annual Boxwood Rally that was a big event we used to throw down in Ossining Ny every year.
Anyway, they (HAMC) invited us all over to their digs on the other side of the fairgrounds at AMJAM where they were set up at the Barn as their camping area. We had a blast and it was some of the most righteous brotherhood stuff I have ever experienced.
When you're in the company of these guy's, and they like you, not only do you have a great time, but you're safe as hell from any dumb ass wannabe's that are around.

Worf is alive and well and far away from the computer.  Yesterday he mowed the lawn (which looks beautiful!).  But I, too, miss his spam elimination talents.

the spammer is some events planner who pops up often with these obsequious posts, as if anyone here who would be sponsoring a corporate function or high-end wedding, in the first place, would select a caterer whose specialty dish is meat and fat by-products (spam). Easy enough to ignore; not worth getting wound up about.

I was there and I thought the music was fantastic.

Among other things, the Brothers played the Brothers and Sisters album before it had been released...nobody had heard it before.  When a thunderstorm cleared the stage, Garth Hudson stayed on and played the organ in concert with the storm.

The best fest I ever attended.
