Food and Booze Plans?
Post by ncalsurfer on Aug 29, 2013 18:18:49 GMT -5
Here's our plans:
Breakfast - fruit, yogurt, bagels at our campsite
Lunch - use our best Hogwart's magic to get some protein bars and beef jerky into the venue
Dinner - support local vendors inside the venue
Booze - trickier since we're not morning drinkers! I can't imagine the beer/wine at the bars is going to be less than $5-6/drink (maybe more). I don't need to be blasted to have fun, but I'd love to have a few drinks each day - that's going to add up quick! More Hogwart's magic? Are they going to be checking for camelbaks and sealed bottles of water? I guess my main concern is buying a bunch of booze to have at the campsite but then being inside all day and not being able to enjoy it! (I know you all would happily drink it for me before during and after!)
What are you coming prepared for?

If I do I'll pick up a snack inside. I never eat nearly as much at a fest as I bring.

dinner, depend on how much partying we are doing but probably get something each evening from the vendors inside.
Late nite snack at camp, if needed.
For booze, going to drink before going in. Hope we can figure out easy to get some in. No way I can pay at least $6 beer/drink each night, that will add up fast. Figure $100 per day inside for two. That's not happening

lunch, maybe a slice of pizza inside the venue, dinner will be also be inside the venue. For some reason i try to mostly go vegetarian at festies, so hopefully a nice veggie burrito or curry will be happening. I may need to escape back to camp for beers/vodka or if possible smuggle in a small flask to compliment the local microbrews so I dont miss any music. I know from attending 2 Festy experiences that Devils Backbone has some truly fabulous brews and am looking forward to that. I guess one of the "disadvantages", of continuous music is that at some point I may miss something if I head back to the campsite.

Lunch inside, lovin' on the local vendors
I'm imagining a trip back to the campsite at dusk-ish to snack, have a few cocktails, get glowy stuff together, etc.
If I get hungry late night at the concert area (unlikely, but you never know) I'll snack from the vendors.
We always pack too much and never eat it. Also, we worked all summer and this is our one vacay. That's why we're a little vendor heavy, I guess.
