Never too early to start planning, especially since bands are starting to announce NYE shows. I've always wanted to do a NYE show, and somehow have never gotten the chance. I would love to go see PhilRAD at the Capitol or even the NYE Extravaganza in Allentown with Melvin & JGB, NRPS and Splintered Sunlight, but too far to travel on amateur night and too much $$$ once accommodations are factored in. Guess I'll have to settle for two nights of Cabinet at a brewpub near here. Of course those two nights are the 29th and 30th. Dammit dammit dammit...

Anyways, what are your plans?

Nothing noteworthy in NorCal unless TXR announces something before they sell all the tickets. SCI in Denver is sounding fun then two nights of YMSB. I am thinking I should save money just in case there is a 50 something tour. It would be a lot easier to plan if they would commit. If they don't we are going to do the Melvin JGB tour. It is probably a better bet now. But back to New Year if anyone knows of something in Nor Cal I'd love to hear about it.

some (now) good friends that i met at lockn this year are from colorado. they've been trying to get me to come out and stay with them and go to the cheese nye 3 day run. i would LOVE to be able to, but between concert and plane tickets, it's just not happening. haven't really figured out what i'm doing. probably staying home and going to bed at 12:05. lol

I doubt it'll be a full-on tour. Phil has pretty much said he's done with that; that's why he only plays the Capitol, the Brooklyn Bowl, and his own place. Also, while he hasn't come out and said anything, I don't think Bobby's gonna be able to tour anymore.

I imagine that, if it happens at all, it'll be a show or two at Terrapin Crossroads, a couple at the Cap or BB, and a night or two at Lockn'. Phil just adores Pete Shapiro, and I don't think he's the only one of The Boys that feels that way, so I'm pretty sure that as long as you're planning on attending Lockn', you'll see whatever incarnation the Core Four are calling themselves.

Cabinet's still nice and cheap. Both nights for both of us is less than one ticket to NYE with Phil.

If they play at all and don't play Lockn I'll be shocked. I think they will play in golden gate park maybe even free out here because TXR can't hold a half a million heads and they know many people will come.
I am so with you on weighing expenses versus quality/quantity and factoring travel. I think I will do RRE in Denver and skip SCI because I've seen them four times recently and want to see RRE really bad. Brother you have no idea how much your positivity makes my world better and leads me to hope instead of grief. THANK YOU!!!!

Even better, set the clocks back two hours, everyone goes "woo-hoo" at 10:00 and then safely home to bed at a reasonable hour.
